QUOTE(azxel @ Sep 3 2010, 03:52 PM) http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Kuala...hettimonster=ts That is the price without the light and sound package. With the light and sound package, it would be RM158,888.eh.. the Golf is only at RM148,888 and not RM158,888!? Oh yeah, managed to make an appointment tmr to test drive the Golf as well This post has been edited by Mavik: Sep 3 2010, 04:49 PM |

Went for a test drive of the car on Saturday and placed a booking for the Golf 1.4
Got some pros and cons from the test drive I feel, don't feel the lag too much but the things that irk me is the interior in terms of the lack of leather seats, electric seats seem to make it look cheapish. Was considering a 2nd hand Mk5 before this but in the end decided to get a new car instead. If you get it from Wearnes you get a 5 year road assist complimentary from them. |

QUOTE(rcracer @ Sep 6 2010, 02:00 PM) The problem with bringing in the TDI's in here to Malaysia is that our petrol stations are only selling Euro 2M diesels instead of the Euro 4M where they get their most benefits of more power and better FC. I really wish that in Malaysia that they start selling the Euro 4M diesels. Then might see more diesel cars being brought in. |

QUOTE(climacool @ Sep 6 2010, 03:46 PM) I would strongly suggest u buy NEW car instead of 2nd hand MK5. The benefit of 5 years warranty is really worth it. In additional to that, unlimited mileage...you can have greater peace of mind on your ride. Yeah I had the same thought hence I decided to get a new car. Never really owned a new car before n most of my previous cars were 2nd hand. Had to live through a nightmare with the current one hence decided to get a new car. Let's say if your car's parts got problem or spoil during year 3 or 4*touch wood*, the warranty cover everything. Once you get ur baby Golf 1.4, make sure u organize TT session... QUOTE(supercharger @ Sep 6 2010, 03:52 PM) Yeah I saw the APR remap, brings it to 190hp QUOTE(climacool @ Sep 6 2010, 03:53 PM) I think it will to, need to check and double check with the SC and the shop that does the remapQUOTE(sleepwalker @ Sep 6 2010, 04:03 PM) It's factory warranty and does not cover consumables and items that wear out from use. Things like the clutch and the belts are not covered under this warranty. Yeah they have a huge list of clauses there! |

(once you grab he go change his story and you kena charge 3.x%) Yeah I asked for freebies as well but hard to get them. Usually the freebies come from VW Group itself hence the dealer only sells them on behalf of VW. I wanted a shirt As far as I know and I checked with the salesman just now.. no promo or freebies for the new models This post has been edited by Mavik: Sep 7 2010, 07:58 PM |

QUOTE(azxel @ Sep 8 2010, 09:54 AM) Added on September 8, 2010, 9:55 am I think would wait a bit before deciding... not really an early adopter as I've had countless bad experience with a lot of 1st gen stuff I buy Will want to check out and see what problems folks face as well... On the bright side, this really isn't the 1st gen, here maybe but it has been out for almost a year already in other countries and Singapore. Hopefully we can learn from their experience as well |

QUOTE(azxel @ Sep 8 2010, 10:52 AM) awesome man!! enjoy your ride cos it's one heckuva smooth criminal! I missed the September batch hence it should be here in October. Yes, I chose white because I drive on the highway 80% of the time so any other collies and the front bonnet paint chips due to the small stones and pebbles are very obvious. I wanted red initially but the red for the Golf didn't seem as nice as it looked on the MkV GTI's. The dealer mentioned that it is a different shade of red and not the tornado red.when are you getting your car? White color isit? I hear only a few colors available if you want it fast |

QUOTE(whis @ Sep 8 2010, 01:04 PM) From the salesperson who mentioned to me, the popular colours are the amaryllis red, reflex silver and one of the blue colours. Stocks for those are quite low for it as most people who booked it chose those colours. |

QUOTE(newmaster @ Sep 8 2010, 02:50 PM) nope There are two types of red available, Amaryllis Red and Tornado Red according to the dealer although on the website it is only listed as 1 type of Red. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://www.autoworld.com.my/v2/news/nb_det...=RT.ATC.CAR.BTW Agree that the black isn't as nice as the GTI version because of the lack of red trim. Makes a hell of a difference! Yeah the light blue has a nice name to it, its called Shark Blue on the brochure This post has been edited by Mavik: Sep 8 2010, 02:58 PM |

So far, the number of the bookings for the Polo is still relatively low. No one around Msia interested in the car? Looks fantastic though, saw the manual version at Wearnes the other day. Seriously good looking!

QUOTE(btfan @ Sep 11 2010, 06:09 PM) I guess it's a bit overpriced looking at the size. Since you saw the Golf and Polo firsthand, how big is the difference between the two? Could you compare (size-wise) with any of the more common cars on our road? The Polo feels about the size of the Myvi. If you sit in the older Polo, this one is slightly bigger |

QUOTE(Yan @ Sep 12 2010, 11:54 PM) can anybody verify, is there a "united grey" color for the VW 1.4 TSI ? saw it in their malaysian website but my SA fr cergas told me don't have in m'sia.. Hrm, that is weird indeed. The SA from Wearnes told me that there is when she asked me which colour I preferred when I was placing my booking for the car. But there are a number of the GTI's out there on the road with United Grey as their colour. I saw one of them at the Wearnes VW Bangsar basement, a United Grey GTI of course. |
