one more thing, lets say if i display 800x600 things on a macbook pro 15 inch, does it stretch it?

and if upgrade hdd by yourself will void warranty onot?
*
wont void warranty. the HDD is design to be user replaceable. they even teach u how to do it in the manual.

hapa is correct. even if u send ur macbook to claim warranty, it wont void it. just that apple wont cover ur HDD if it's damaged. they will only cover the stock HDD

imrozx, thats very good of u to read from page 1 haha. ur post is long so im not gonna quote it here tongue.gif

1st of all, congrats on ur MBP! none of us here regret getting one so im sure u wont haha. also, thanks for the link about the battery, seems very useful

about ur dad's MBP, best is to just bring it to an authorized service centre, take advantage of ur warranty coverage. i hv no idea what's the cause of the problem though

u can try google the carbon fiber case on youtube, i remember seeing a review on it and it says that it does not shut your mbp's lid completely...not sure about that myself as i'm using a spec satin laugh.gif

thats so true bro...i've never actually see someone who regret on a mbp around here  rolleyes.gif
btw bro, abit off topic ya....u using the razer orochi rite? is it nice to use?
i just got a magic mouse n kinda have a weird feeling with it  rclxub.gif
*
orochi? very nice indeed. previously i was using proclick 1.6, to my surprise the orochi feels exactly the same, except for the shorter length, n just slighttttly narrower. i instantly got used to it. the height is perfect (for me), n i like the texture. i was never a fan of wireless mouse bcuz i dun want to bother with batteries. but since this is a hybrid, i only use it in wireless mode when im not at home. havent changed battery since i bought it. my only qualm is the side buttons are too small n feel very plasticky

comparing with the magic mouse, it's too low for me, not comfortable. 2nd is the location of the sensor. in most mice, the sensor is right in the middle, where in the magic mouse it's more to the front. this makes the MM navigation different bcuz of the extra length between the sensor and ur wrist. of course, this is just my personal opinion tongue.gif

appreciate it bro smile.gif
i also feel the same for the magic mouse though...abit too low and my wrist hurts after using for sometime. the speed is also one problem, quite slow eh  sweat.gif
i think i'll invest in a orochi soon  cool.gif
thanks bro  thumbup.gif
*
speed can use software hehe. orochi is quite small though, i have small hands so nvm tongue.gif

i think so.. i call the call center also ask me to bring to Machines at KLCC... well its a  long way from Kota Bharu.  need to plan first.

hmm.. i have some question, anyone here manage to find software for bahasa Malaysia proffing tool on mac. its like Dewan eja or somtin.
been searching, but none found. google also cannot handle.. XD
*
try VR tech. quite a lot of bad stories from machines ;p

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Oct 14 2010, 07:22 PM)
How many years of warranty in stock? Do you guys think that it is necessary to extend the warranty and how?
*
1 yr international warranty. u can buy AppleCare Protection Plan (price varies according to mac model, u can look up the online store) to get extra 2 years warranty + phone support. but u must extend it within ur 1st year warranty. if u 1 yr original warranty ends, u're not eligible to register for ACPP anymore

i never own T.T ACPP so expensive aa... cannot afford to buy one.. so I better save the money to buy next revision... apple... go cheaper on us.. if looking at the trend.. next revision of mbp shuld reduce rm200 moar... ^^; i hope it will.
*
the price only went down bcuz of currency. the price is the same in US

but still, ACPP is obviously much much cheaper than a new mac. why dont u save money to get ACPP?

well im sure it didnt bend itself tongue.gif. maybe ur notebook bag not enough padding? or someone accidentally knocked it but never told you whistling.gif that being said, i dont think can claim warranty unless u juz bought it a few days ago

Anyone saw the leak photo of the new macbook air? From what I saw from there it seems to have 4 separate batteries. Wonders how long it will last for a single charge
*
i saw the picture but i cant imagine why they have to separate the batteries into 4 compartments. another rumour is it's using some kind of SSD card as storage instead of HDD or SSD. also not sure if it's still going to be 13" or 11"

I need ur guy helps. I'm planning to get myself a Macbook Pro. However, i worried that the Mac will intro us the new Macbook Pro 2011 in case...

Question is whether it is worth to buy a Macbook Pro now?
Or should i wait until the Lion release then only i purchase?
Need ur guys help~~

thanks.
*
the best is to just follow the advice here: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/

then you yourself decide. for me, as long as it can do whatever u want it to do, just go buy. no point in always chasing the latest and greatest in technology. unless u're filthy rich of course. and i mean FILTHY rich tongue.gif nothing wrong if u wanna wait for Lion too, but then u'll be missing out around half a year not using a new MBP hehe

by the way, retina display on a macbook? i really think no. cuz if u increase the resolution of the macbook, fonts n stuff will be hard to read. of course, unless you scale them correctly. but it will only look good if u scale it to double the density. that's the reason iphone 3gs to iphone 4 was 163ppi to 326ppi (exactly double). that's the only way to make it look "smooth". so to upgrade a 1440x900 15" MBP display, it wont scale nicely unless u go for 2880x1800, which is A LOT. even the 27" ACD cannot challenge that

@wengthekit

we are in the same dilemma.

btw, a silly question here, if i buy mpb now it should pre-install with snow leopard, when lion out can we upgrade it? need pay or free?
*
of course need to pay lah. wont be as expensive as windows upgrades i guess

im using moshi clearguard. it was fine for a few months until my nephew had an all-day counter strike session on it +_+. it was right after this that i notice my clearguard got that 'bump' on it. mine is in between [4] and [5]

i wonder if it's because of the heat?

is the new MacBook Air is with the SSD storage inside?
*
yes but not in the normal way

instead of the SSD drive, they just take out the chips inside n solder to the motherboard tongue.gif save space, but cannot self upgrade lah

Still can Bootcamp for this MBA?
*
of course. it's still a mac. but if u wanna bootcamp i suggest getting at least the 128gb version. 64gb for a mac with bootcamp sounds too limited

QUOTE(marcus20125 @ Oct 23 2010, 06:51 PM)
macbook pro will meet your requirement since it come with faster processor, larger hardisk space and ram upgradeable up to 8gb.
the advantage for macbook air over macbook pro will be 1kg lesser, faster storage access speed, facetime camera

what was his requirement?

Just delete my BootCamp and trying to re-install it back but can't. I'm trying to re-create the partition but it says

"The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved"
*
this problem can be easy to fix or complicated. seems like it depends on ur luck tongue.gif ill sort it out from easiest to most complicated

1) open disk utility, repair disk permissions
2) boot from OSX dvd, open disk utility, repair disk
3) open disk utility (like normal, not booting from dvd), create a new partition the same size as u intend the bootcamp partition to be. then remove the partition u juz created. now try bootcamp again
4) clone ur whole system, n reformat +_+
