i wan 2 know how can i install mac os on macbook ..
i already make my external boot ... but sadly ... my macbook cant boot from my external ...
i wan 2 know either my option is wrong ?
*
1. im not sure why do u need to boot from an external drive to install mac OS? if it's not a macbook air, why cant u juz use the DVD?

2. are you trying to make a USB OSX installer?

3. i have booted my MBP from a cloned external HDD thru USB no problem. obviously performance is slow but it gets the job done

ojimaru..the external was previously FAT32. just converted to NTFS after figuring out that might be the problem. but the transfer also failed.
*

guys, is it normal when it gets kinda hot at the speakers part, especially the left side where the charging slot is located? I'm not even running multiple applications, just watching movies on megaupload. I'm using MBP 15". Any ways to reduce the heat generated?
*
watching movies no megaupload = using flash

flash is known to be resource intensive, so ur computer is working harder -> generate more heat. that's the reason it's not on iOS device tongue.gif

reduce heat? well if u're in an air-conditioned room shud be ok. else juz let it be lah. being hot is good, it means the aluminium body is doing its job conducting the heat from inside to the atmosphere. u dont want the heat to get trapped inside

thx u for the information... but can i know how to reduce the intake of cycle? any tips.. as i check the battery price for mbp.. pheww sweat.gif
*
reduce cycle? reduce battery usage of course. but using battery too little also got problem. dont think that u wanna keep ur battery in good shape then u scared u dun wanna use it. battery is a consumable part, it's meant to be replaced one day later. imagine buying a printer....the stock ink will run out eventually, n it's stupid to not use the printer because u dun wan to replace the ink tongue.gif

juz remember to calibrate. u dun have to use the battery a lot but atleast have the electrons moving once in a while. juz like human....too much heavy duty work everyday can die early... being a couch potato whole day also can die early tongue.gif let the battery work once in a while

Ya  , its just for torrent only. Btw , what is a download manager?
*
lol. what is download manager ah... imagine utorrent but for normal download instead of torrents. if u're using firefox, try downthemall

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Sep 22 2010, 11:00 PM)
What features on DTA that you can't leave without Firefox...? I'm sure you can copy the download links and download manually using DTA...

One thing I don't like about DTA is the inability to control download speed, unlike Speed Download which I can control the bandwidth, so that my Screamyx have room for other users in my household...
*
because DTA is a firefox plugin, not a standalone app. closing firefox meaning closing DTA as well. so far it's my favourite smile.gif but yala, sometimes i quit firefox forgetting that im downloading something haha

QUOTE(HW-Racer @ Sep 22 2010, 11:24 PM)
any idea when the new Macbook (with i3/i5 processor) is coming out ??
*
QUOTE(setoyo @ Sep 23 2010, 12:10 AM)
Mmmm... It out already....
*
setoyo is wrong. macbooks and MBP13 are still using core 2 duo. HW-Racer, no one knows when macbook will adopt i3/i5 since we dunno when the next refresh would be. but i doubt it'll be this year though

my main question is whether there will be a huge fps increase of the 512mb one over the 256mb one?

also one thing, will this gpu get outdated easily?? like in 2-3 yrs time will it still be able to ply games in low settings? i mean both the 256 and 512mb models.

i wont buy this laptop, my fren asked me about this, he said he was just wondering  only.
*
advantage of bigger VRAM is mostly for textures only.

i kinda believe this 'theory'. GPU will go down one 'level' every 2.5 years. the 330M GT is considered a mid-level GPU, so in about 2.5 years it'll be a low-end GPU. still good enough to play the latest games but low settings lah

i think u just need to close the macbook pro, am i right?

erm also will the 320m gc in the mbp 13" get outdated in 2-3yrs?
*
depends what 'outdated' means to u. for me, as long as it still can do what i need to be done, then it's not 'outdated' hehe

if 'outdated' means 'not the latest' for u, then a few months become outdated dy

im using WD mybook studio, but i never use smartware. i didn't remove it but im sure you can

review? well no problems so far. time machine backups (normally 20-30gb) is fast on fw800 compared to fw400 or USB. i have no idea how to use the lcd panel haha, but the colour looks nice la. match my mbp biggrin.gif

@dvlzplayground and nabielz

So, you guys haven't encountered problems like a virtual cd automounts everytime the HDD is connected like the ones being discussed in this forum?

I'm tempted by the fw800 and the matching colours too tongue.gif
*
yes the virtual cd mounts. uh i dont see that as a 'problem' though, it's supposed to be a feature haha. when it mounts i juz let it stay there lah tongue.gif. you can remove it if u want to
