QUOTE(cupz @ Jul 20 2011, 10:25 PM) Hi guys, I keep getting the error below during booking through AA. "Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Tried using different browsers and different computers but still have that error. Any ideas? Been like this for a few days. Just refresh the page, it should be ok.

A news from a Japanese online newspaper regarding ANA & AA's tie up in Japan. QUOTE Friday, July 22, 2011
ANA, AirAsia tie up for budget carrier
By MIZUHO AOKI Staff writer
All Nippon Airways Co. and AirAsia Bhd., Southeast Asia's biggest budget carrier, announced Thursday they together will launch a new low-cost carrier in Japan, aiming to cultivate new demand and survive intensifying competition.
AirAsia Japan Co. will be based at Narita International Airport and is expected to start both domestic and international flight operations in August 2012.
The two airlines didn't say what routes the new budget carrier was hoping to fly.
Its fares will be about a third or half the price of existing carriers, said Shinichiro Ito, ANA's president and CEO, adding the carrier aims to operate more than 30 aircraft by around 2016.
The joint venture is scheduled to be established next month with ¥5 billion in capital, they said. ANA will own 67 percent and AirAsia will hold the remaining 33 percent on a voting rights basis.
Intensifying competition in the Japanese aviation market "is a huge threat and at the same time, it is a huge business opportunity. And we've been thinking what we can do. One of the answers is to establish AirAsia Japan," Ito said.
Tony Fernandes, AirAsia's group CEO, said the new low-cost carrier will help boost economic growth in Japan. "We see an enormous potential in Japan, not just for outbound flights. There is a tremendous number of people (overseas) who want to come to Japan," he said.
AirAsia Japan will be ANA's consolidated subsidiary, but its business model will be based on AirAsia Bhd. Yay!

QUOTE(ItsMyUsername @ Jul 30 2011, 01:57 AM) So i check in to get my boarding pass and check in my baggage at the same counter? Not separate counters? Okay then...thanks! If you have not done any kiosk/online/mobile check in, then you will be checking in for your ticket + luggage at the same counter. If you have checked in via kiosk/online/mobile, then the baggage drop off is at the baggage drop of counter which has lesser ppl queueing.

QUOTE(Ms Sim @ Aug 2 2011, 03:33 PM) can i still buy travel insurance if my travel date is on next week? U mean via Air Asia's insurance? Not sure bout that but you could always get AXA's travel insurance (i usually buy theirs as they are cheaper and have more coverage). If you email their customer service with the application form, you can do a bank transfer or pay via credit card. Since I am paying direct to them, they offer 25% off from actual price.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Aug 3 2011, 05:53 PM) Since we are at this travel insurance topic, some credit cards do offer travel insurance too if the tickets are charged using the cards. What would be the difference between such travel insurance compared to the ones provided by AA and AXA? Would it be sufficient to just rely on the credit card's travel package? Example: http://www.citibank.com.my/global_docs/Ins...remierMiles.pdfhttp://www.standardchartered.com.my/person...e/en/index.htmlI've no idea on the insurance offered by credit cards though... Sorry couldn't help much! Hopefully the other forummers who know will answer to your question!

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Aug 5 2011, 02:02 PM) I'm sure the current AA thread has already mention about this. I've also mentioned about it when I flew to NZ and back. Going that time I book Hot Seat, very comfy. They don't provide anything unless you pre-book your meals and other stuff. Coming back I didn't book Hot Seat and just sat at the usual economy seat without paying for extra. Nothing much, just the space between seats a little smaller but almost similar to usual full airlines economy seats. For my NZ flights, I pre-book my meals, which was around RM40 (KL-NZ) and RM70 (NZ-KL). This includes two meals on board with two bottles of water each person. You can also pre-book your in-flight entertainment and comfort set thingy. I'm not sure how much since I didn't use them. Of course you can always pay and get it on the spot but it's more expensive as usual. If you're asking what do they provide for free? Then NOTHING, you can visit the toilet for free though. Water also have to buy. Well said.

Got a ticket to Tokyo next month back in Feb. However, I stupidly choose Malaysian Food and didn't realise what it was. Found out today that it's Nasi Lemak and I don't & have never eaten Nasi Lemak my whole life. Managed to change the food to International instead - no extra charge!!

QUOTE(WhiteWing @ Aug 10 2011, 05:20 PM) This is also first time I enter the aeroplane. Is it the handcarry bag and laptop bag I can carry together to me until my seats there? Yes of course. Why not? If ur laptop bag fits the front bottom seat, you can put it there instead of the overhead compartment.

QUOTE(shortleg88 @ Aug 10 2011, 06:10 PM) Since we are in this topic, mind if I ask if I were to carry a laptop bag without laptop (can say it's like back pack). Can I still carry another hand luggage then? I've done that before. I carried the Dell laptop bag - coz i don't have my own backpack so I used this instead. They didn't check or weigh or anything. I had another sling bag on my body as well. The flight attendants probably thought there's a laptop in it.

QUOTE(Find The Way @ Aug 10 2011, 10:56 PM) Hi, one question from non-regular traveler. While booking ticket at AA website, I saw a MYR36 "seat fee". Could someone please enlighten me what seat fee is all about? It's where you are able to choose your preferred seating (like in the movies) with a fee. Just click 'Cancel' twice and there won't be a Seat Fee anymore.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Aug 15 2011, 05:45 PM) The airport tax will be increased starting in mid sept. What happen to those that already booked the flight, need to pay the extra amount? I don't think so. Usually it only applies to tickets bought after tax has been increased.

QUOTE(ruzzlacwe @ Aug 16 2011, 11:52 AM) hi all I ve booked a kl-Taipei flight on airasia can anyone let me know where is the exit point? is it the front and middle only? wanna know where is the fastest to get out of the huge plane thanks~~ Usually it depends. If the airport offers airbridge, then usually the front one will get out first, unless they have double airbridge for front and back door. If there is a shuttle, alot of the times they will open up the front door but occassionally the back door will be opened.

You can actually click on a dummy date and then when you reach the luggage & food section, click on to check on the price of both.
FYI, price do not differ if you book the luggage/food when you book the ticket OR if you want to change it later to bigger/smaller luggage weight or different food.
