Sorry for asking a question which may sound terribly stupid but i really dont know.

AirAsia and AirAsiaX - is the difference that AA flies to domestic destinations only and AAX to overseas destinations?

so AA promo and AAX promo will be for different destination? I want to go to Taipei next year - do i wait for AA promo or AAX promo?

thanks

Nope, both fly overseas. AAX is mainly on long haul, i think > 4hours. both AA n AAX promo are usually listed together .

However, this time, the free seats promo is only for AA

Check out the MAS promo starting today. Really cheap prices. A Return trip to Rome is only RM 3218. London only RM 3734. Paris - RM 3347. Fares are all inclusive.

RM 3218 for a direct flight on MAS is considered cheap. Last week the ticket cost RM 4542 for the same date. So its a big discount.

For the same destination, Qatar Airways costs RM 3104 (with 1 stopover in Doha) while Emirates cost RM 4140 with a stopover in Dubai. Air Asia ticket from KL - Stansted (London) costs about RM3000 (including tax, food, comfort kit, etc) but with much less luxury and comfort.

So in comparison to this, MAS is surely a cheaper and better choice. Now is the best time to travel to Europe and UK. Make use of the low foreign currency exchange. In about 1 years time, the currencies might be back to normal. So try and travel now. When the currencies are high again, focus on Asia. But for now try and consider Europe.

When i toured Europe in 2008, the UK Pound was trading at RM 6.30 while the Euro was at RM 5.50. Now its only RM 4.98 and RM 4.32 respectively. Big difference.

Indonesia Airasia

How possible they won the Skytrax World's best low-cost airline? I have doubt with the result and assessment criteria.

On 6th Nov 2010, due to volcano ashes, more than 30 flights were cancelled from/to Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport. We, the passenger of Airasia didn't even received a sms from them mentioning the flight was cancelled!

We only noticed that while we trying to check-in about 2 hours before the flight time. The counter was so clouded! No one was informed by Airasia that flight was cancelled.....

Just imagine, we queued for more than 3 hours to check with the so called "WORLD'S BEST" airline counter staff about the status but not even my chance to talk to the any of them, with the queue of not more than 6 persons in front of me! We ended to "catch" any Airasia staff passing by to enquire bout the arrangement. Again, we got to wait for more than 30 minutes just to get the replacement ticket done.

Well, we are not expecting anything, but at least a clear answer from Airasia - Flight cancelled, No hotel arrangement, No transportation, Replacement or refund of flight ticket........ I don't think this shall cost more than 10 minutes to each customer.

An excel organisation shall have plans, policies, practices........ Unfortunately, I don't see anything that Airasia practices. As a Quality Professional, I have doubt with their standard procedures. Do they really have processes in place?

We managed to catch our flight back to Kuala Lumpur this early morning, 8th Nov. Sad to say, another bad experience. The counter staff was like dreaming..... Averagely, he took more than 15mins - 20 mins to process a person's check-in who didn't pursues any special request! Can I suggest Airasia to replace all staff in their Jakarta counter? At least, this might assist them to maintain their reputation.

GOOD LUCK AIRASIA. Today, you lose at least 10 customers forever.........

Will never take MAS, even if cheaper than AAX, once bitten twice shy. vmad.gif
Old plane, horrible food and no choice of seat. Request for water takes ages to reach you.

Went to London last Nov on AAX, direct flight - 14 hrs, no complains, comfortable and cheap (all in - 2 for price of 1 on MAS) thumbup.gif
