thats what i dont understand too. i know its 24 months but when i ask the lady at maxis when picking up my phone she said 18 months only~~
the stock ROM in XDA is nice, good, fast and awesome but i'm satisfied with stock Modaco ROM, felt better. dont know why but i felt closer to the original. like XDA stock rom is 98% close but Modaco is 99.5% close.

but sometimes Beautiful widgets FC, i dont whic one FC cuz i dont see the widgets gone or not responding though~~ overall its all good.
*
Where did you guys get the Beautiful Widget? Been trying to find that ever since.

QUOTE(KTCY @ Aug 5 2010, 09:53 AM)
Register at SIS web. The lady knows nothing.
*

This thread has been flying since the official Froyo 2.2 released in EU and now there's more modded ROM options. One night, it's updated for 5 pages and more. I can see why Android is gaining so much market share. Let it beat iPhone!

I am tempted to flash the Paul's Froyo ROM but I could not find it in the xda forum. Maybe I'm blind. Very tempting to try since you guys said it has better battery life but I dont want to setup my homescreen, configure swype, restore my user data (notepad files, calendar items, installed programs, etc). Can Titanium backup deal with all this for me?
*
Its not there because Paul is not in XDA. He handles his own forum in Modaco smile.gif

Just to share my simple "Utility" screen configuration, captured using ShootMe as akachester recommended it, I think it's better than drocap2!

It looks so pale on LCD screen compare to AMOLED

Third Party? Haven't downloaded much apps yet, and without a2sd+ the phone space is pretty limited sad.gif
Those are stocks widget from HTC... just add a widget under "Settings"
*
SwitchPro is paid apps. Power Options is stock widget from HTC. Find that from the Widget Section and it basically have about 5 - 7 utility in 1 widget.

SwitchPro lately give me a problem whereby the toggle for data whenever i activate it then when I deactivate it, it just won't goes offline. sweat.gif
*
Its only slow to turn of the data for me though. It had this option where even if you turn of the data connection, whenever you turn off the WiFi, the data connection will automatically be turned on.

I only have problem turning on the data connection is when i flashed to Modaco FroYo and it does not come with any APN.

Ever since I have done a few rooting / ROM flashing (or maybe that's not the reason), but battery doesn't fully charge anymore. Will be doing bump charge and wipe battery stats to re-calibrate (as suggested by cleave)
*
How do we do that?

3GB? is it enough for u?currently I'm using 1.5GB n thinking to upgrade it also.
*
I am curious to know why it is not enough for you guys. What do you use it for? I am on 1GB DiGi connection and i havent even reach 70% usage, considering that it is deadline next week. I barely even touch 500MB download with occasional FB, Twitter, surfing of net, downloading of stuffs etc. I even have auto sync for all of those running constantly.

Aihh...I hope the next batch still AMOLED lorr..The HTC guy at digital mall told me it will still be AMOLED but I dun think he noe what hes talking about lor..He say "they won't bring SLCD to Msia coz they wana fight with Samsung's AMOLED"...sad.gif
*
I doubt. Even models released lately in Canada and Europe are said to come with SLCD already. With the shortage around, i am pretty sure most likely the next batch will be SLCD.

They will of course as Samsung can't even support HTC's demand for it. Of course the next batch will be SLCD, no doubt.
Most of the time, shop person don't have updated news as most of us that reading engadget and etc.
*
They dont just supply to HTC. Its said to be shortage for all 3.7" AMOLED to all brands that are using them smile.gif Well, dont worry about SLCD. Recent comparison does show they dont differ so much. Both have pros and cons. Only thing still unproven to me was the fact that SLCD is more battery saving compared to AMOLED. Still no concrete news on how much the "battery saving" is actually.

Again, i suggest don't make a judgement first before looking at the SLCD. I personally doubt you will even notice the difference directly, as from the video comparisons available so far, they are almost on par.

Samsung makes AMOLED, restricted units to HTC because obviously they don't want HTC to overtake their sales.

I personally still believe since AMOLED from Samsung conquers the market, and most of the AMOLED screens are from them, production would suffer somehow. And besides, i doubt its even the sales that are preventing them from giving it to HTC. They do have the Super AMOLED which is better tongue.gif

amoled becomes a rare item recently huh?  sweat.gif  Even Pantech is refused by Samsung to provide Amoled screen
You can see the version in the first boot screen (the white screen)

Rooting your phone won't change your hboot version. The only way to get hboot 0.92 (which is undesired for custom  ROM flashers) is to upgrade to Desire to Froyo by OTA
*
The only AMOLED that are said to be low in supply is the 3.7" one and its the same one that Pantech is requesting from Samsung. Thus, all of them do not have stock for it.

Anyway, here is another good sample on AMOLED vs SLCD. It seems AMOLED came with blue tint while SLCD is on a yellow tint. It does say SLCD had better visibility under the sunlight but contrast wise, AMOLED is better.

In regards to power saving on the SLCD, this is the quote :

QUOTE
It also offers some improved power usage in the general case (though AMOLED gains an advantage if displaying mostly black images). LCD screens consume less power when displaying all-white content.

Looks like its not exactly battery savings after all cause from all i could remember, most, if not all of Desire is in black color tongue.gif

Btw, anyone on MODACO ROM? Do you have problem with the Weather widget? It cant seem to update after some time and displaying blank widget.
