Vanilla UI? Honestly, I have no idea what it means. I just assume it's a less interactive UI compared to Sense UI. I have not tried Modaco, Cynanogen and OpenDesire. OpenDesire dont update very often so I am somewhat skeptical. Others not in the xda forum also I have not tried (Modaco?).
I have not received the card yet. Still with pos laju! smile.gif

I dont think brand matters much but the Class 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 determines the speed. Class 10 is fastest, Class 2 being the slowest (I still cannot believe Maxis provided 2GB Class 2!) Some say the speed dont play much of a role and some say otherwise. I think it does. I have installed so many things on my phone that I've used up the entire 2GB. I installed quite a few games from Gameloft and game data usually takes up 100MB++. When I play RPG game, Zenonia, some times it will lag causing me to die and lose EXP! When I launch the ALL PROGRAMS menu, the icons shows up batch by batch. I just hope Class 10 will help me solve all these.
Not downloadable from XDA, is it? Do we need to pay?
I have not tried this but I tested another which uses Gmail protocol to send voice recorded but trial limitation only can add 2 friends. I forgot the name of the app though.

Vanilla UI = Plain Original FroYo UI.

The class of each cards represents the MINIMUM speed that a card will run. Thus, it is guaranteed to run at that speed (could be higher). And as indicated, the higher the class, the faster the minimum speed. Its not Maxis that provide class 2. Even those SIS sets comes with Class 2 2gb.

Modaco R8 rom is a premium member ROM from Modaco Forum. You need to pay to bake it from his online kitchen.

They have done alot of test of different brand and different class of MicroSD, it seems like brand does matters alot, and some how our Desire speed is capped at a level where even higher Class card won't break the barrier.

Sandisk is famous for having their card's speed faster than the quoted class. Some class 2 SDs are proven to be even faster than the class 4 from other brands. Like i say, the class only determines the minimum speed it will run, not the optimum / usual speed.

Find a program called Bluetooth File Transfer from the market and use that. Personally, its very troublesome using that program. I prefer to download Astro File Manager and use the bluetooth transfer available there.

Wow, you guys have been really particular about SD read/write speed huh? IMHO, as long as you don't find it laggy it's enough already. I've been using a 8GB Nokia class 4 MicroSD card (yes, nokia, I got it from my old N85), but I think it's still very snappy and no problem with data transfer speed

By the way, is anyone using Chrome to Phone? I thought it was pretty cool, it easily transfers the link from your Chrome browser to phone - of course you need to install an app in phone and extension in Google Chrome
https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail...kfjcgkhco?hl=en

But it needs Froyo (Android 2.2) smile.gif

I tested both Sandisk Class 6 and Kingston Class 4 and don't exactly found any difference. Probably because i don't have any huge program. There are reports saying gaming experience in FroYo are far better on Class 6 and above smile.gif

a forumer selling desire he claim his screen is super lcd. i thought all desire is using amoled, only the future model, htc will switch to slcd.

how to check our desire lcd ?

SLCD is already in the market at the moment. To check, look at the description of the box. It will state AMOLED if its AMOLED.
