Using this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775

Pretty much a stock Desire Sense with Froyo 2.2 + Busybox

I just got Maps [brut] installed with voice navigation  thumbup.gif
*
Thanks. But whats Busybox anyway?

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Aug 3 2010, 09:53 AM)
great to see u joining the "darkside" btw  rclxms.gif. You should have a try at Neophyte and Leedroid roms. They both are very active at updating and considered the rom of the people. They follow up with users request and done some customizing a lil bit (except on neophyte which is using the expressobar mod). Both have done well releasing good sense froyo rom since the froyo leak.
*
One problem with LeeDroid that i have on my short time with it was its really battery hungry and i have no idea why. And there are several people in XDA that reported the same problem. Even worse than OpenDesire to be honest. smile.gif But functionality, by far better than the OpenDesire one last time.

QUOTE(triplexpresso @ Aug 3 2010, 10:12 AM)
Really starting to envy those who can just root at will. I'm giving HTC till the end of Aug. No OTA by then, I shall root.
Nice pics btw, samurai1337 added u on flickr lol biggrin.gif
*
Same as me. I just wanted to get the OTA one first before jumping to root again smile.gif

why when i'm using the internet...theres an "H" icon?
*
It depends on what connection you use for the internet. When there is a H there, it means you are using the HSDPA connection. If you are connected to a WiFi, the data connection logo will be gone and indicates it is using WiFi connection instead.

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Aug 3 2010, 11:52 AM)
yup, clean as new.

anyone? and btw Sandisk or Kingston?

and Ok so if i want OpenDesire still need new radio or not? no harm using the latest radio right? i mean using latest radio is better even if want to flash other ROM right?
*
When you root and install a custom ROM, usually they will notify you which version of ROM would be the best, if an update is required. smile.gif

In regards to memory card, MicroSD and MicroSDHC are basically the SAME thing. The HC, indicates HIGH CAPACITY, which is a denotation for any MicroSD cards, that is > 8gb in capacity. Thus, any cards below 8gb will be called MicroSD, while any cards equal or more than 8gb will be called MicroSDHC. smile.gif

so install ROM first then they'll tell if i need to update my radio? i read in the xda thread that i need to wipe all first, install radio then install rom..which one is it...
*
Install ROM, then Install Radio but it doesnt matter the sequence i believe. The end effect is the same.

The ROM wont tell you whether you need to update the radio. The developer of the ROM will usually state in their thread in XDA, for example, OpenDesire request all user to update their radio if you use their ROM.

It doesn't matter if you don't update except there could be a few features that will be problematic.

QUOTE(danshi @ Aug 3 2010, 04:04 PM)
Hi Bro, I have checked on the link and downloaded all the required files. I have some queries.

1. How do I create partition Ext 3?

2. I checked LeeDroid thread and found that Leedroid 1.7 requires a new radio. I have downloaded that too. What is the step I should take? Install Radio first as per the blog guide and then install the ROM?
*
1) Download a program from the market called ROM Manager. In order to use this, you must root your phone first. Then, using ROM Manager, there is an option to create a partition. Enter Ext3 - 512MB and Swap - 0MB.

2) You can do it either way. I personally flash the ROM first before installing the new Radio. And follow this guide :

http://smarty-money.blogspot.com/2010/07/g...ustom-roms.html

Flashing of Radio is exactly the same process as flashing a ROM.

No, u cant do that. If u want to remove ext, format ur card from ur phone.
Yes please do correct me if i hv made a mistake. I would correct it so all newbie can really understand the rooting steps.
*
But can you format it directly? Cause last i tried, its not working with the OpenDesire. When i format the SD card, it hangs.

Yes, it will hang. That's why u need to restart ur phone and format again till it can be mounted back

Added on August 3, 2010, 8:19 pm
Set ur display brightness to automatic. And u can read it then.
*
Thats the problem. When it hangs, i need to force quit. And when i force quit and restart, it cant recognize the SD anymore, probably because its corrupted. sad.gif

Nope, ur card aint corrupted. After restart, u format sd card again until u can mount it back. Trust me it works and that's the only way.
*
Well, no idea but i tried multiple times when i am on rooted leaked froyo and it hangs, every single time, even after multiple restarts sad.gif

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Aug 4 2010, 06:58 AM)
btw battery is the best in official froyo!
*
How much better is it?

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Aug 4 2010, 08:38 AM)
I guess that unrevoked method only worked when your handset is unrooted
Once you rooted and reflashed to custom ROM it will recognize it as N1 (I guess).

Are you using ROM manager? Do you have the option to flash alternate recovery? Mine is greyed out in the menu
*
Wait, you are saying you are trying to root your handset that is already rooted? I thought you only need to do it once and after that, all you need to do is flash the ROM.

I've been wondering when the Official Froyo Rom is released in SEA, do we need to unroot our Desire (Maxis set) to the original state before flashing the Froyo? How are we going to unroot? Factory settings, would it work?
*
Download the Official RUU file at XDA, run the RUU file and you will have unrooted Eclair. Then, update to Froyo smile.gif

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Aug 4 2010, 10:30 AM)
It's rooted

But I need to reflash the clockmod thing as it seems to be ''corrupted''
Maybe... but that's too much of time (maybe can try in weekend) and it wont fix the issue if it's the Clockmod or ROM Manager bug
*
Question is, can you root an already rooted Desire? I feel that is the cause of the problem.

For Swype, i had the problem as well previously whereby you had enabled it in settings but you cant find it anywhere. What you should do is, to install Swype, enable it in Settings, then restart your phone. Only then you will see the option by long-pressing the settings key in the messages keyboard.

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Aug 4 2010, 12:01 PM)
Wow that's fast... definitely HSDPA (I am getting 1MB max so far from Maxis)
*
Speedtest on my Digi showing about 1MB as well but that is on a very good case.

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Aug 4 2010, 12:44 PM)
Too late dude... I already flashed back to stock RUU and re-doing everything again

Thanks for your help though - I think I will avoid ROM Manager for now as I believe it corrupted my CWM recovery
*
Aint CWM from the same creator as the ROM Manager? Weird that they will conflict within each other sad.gif

Yeah, I reverted back to Asia stock ROM with 2.1 (unroot) and will wait patiently for 2.2 OTA now sad.gif
*
What is the reason you unroot back? Not satisfied? I am getting impatient for the 2.2 OTA and thinking about rooting tongue.gif

Btw, for the official rooted FroYo, do we still need the EXT3 partition?

No. Problem due to GSC website accepting only Mozzila / IE / Chrome. Not even Fennex or Opera works. Tested even on the iPhone tongue.gif

Having some major issues with the Clockwork mod bootloader / recovery tool

Just want a peace of mind for now tongue.gif
*
You mean its only a problem, if you want to change to another custom ROM? smile.gif Cause i am worried that the Rooted Froyo are not exactly stable.

We doesn't received any updated on HTC Desire rom update, it is advice to check on the htc support site regularly for any updates regarding HTC product."

Anyone here planing to upgrade the 2gb memory card? Which one is enough.. 8gb or 16gb? Can anyone recommend which brand to look for coz plan to get one during this pc fair...
*
Using 8GB at the moment, and it seems to be more than sufficient. Programs are definitely not a problem as all of them are fairly small. Otherwise, it depends on how many pictures you take + music + videos.
