Aiyai~ I need Sense UI and FM Radio! I was looking forward to the boot animation but I guess no Cyano-mod for me sad.gif
I'll prob go with the ROM that I'm most comfortable with, Leedroid 1.8c
Agree of course! We are not the iphone thread and we don't have to discuss wallpapers/price/free apps lol tongue.gif
I'm amazed at the sudden surge of interest in rooting and all the help that is being offered. I was expecting "RTFM" or "use the search button" after a while but damn, this is one helpful community! Keep it up guys(& gals) and happy rooting to all newbs!

You gotta thank HTC for delaying the FroYo to SEA units tongue.gif

lol, go do a search on my posts and see how reluctant I was to root. Yeah, I really gotta thank HTC for delaying the OTA to our region. That really pissed me off and made me take the plunge to root it. 2 weeks of using a rooted Desire and now I'm a staunch promoter of rooting!

If you have Superuser Permissions in your app list, your phone is rooted

@nvidia134, just reformat your card with the phone
go to SD & phone storage > unmount SD card > format SD card

Any 1 using the Rooted Official HTC Android 2.2 (FroYo) ROM [Market issue fixed]?
I can't understand the following 2 steps for how to install the radio

# When you are at the screen with the red triangle and the phone, plug in the usb cable
# Run the recovery-windows.bat script from modaco r5 root pack

I used that ROM before. Have you got a recovery console? I think that's the step on how to root instead of how to flash a radio

I think it's probably much easier to use this unrevoked method for rooting, it's not exactly "one click" but the steps are very clear:
http://rootmydroid.co.uk/guides/desire/how...our-htc-desire/

I was a rooting noob but learned from there biggrin.gif

Actually the full step is this but i stuck at step 5

Make sure you have the usb driver installed from the android sdk

1. Turn your desire off
2. Hold the back button and turn your desire on
3. When you are at the white screen, make sure BOOTLOADER is selected and press the power button
4. Wait a few seconds then press volume down to select RECOVERY and press the power button again
5. When you are at the screen with the red triangle and the phone, plug in the usb cable
6. Run the recovery-windows.bat script from modaco r5 root pack
7. When the recovery menu appears select 'Flash zip from sdcard'
8. Select the radio zip file and press the trackerball to confirm
9. Press the trackerball over 'Reboot system now'
10. When the radio image has finished being written unplug the usb cable
11. The phone will reboot a couple of times and then return to a normal state with your new radio

by the way i just install the rom witout the radio is it ok?
and the radio here means the radio on the phone right?

Don't really get what your issue is (i.e., what are you stuck at?), you don't know how to install the android SDK USB driver? I did it by following this page:
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/pub..._driver_install

This is one of the steps using the unrevoked method, but I don't know if it's applicable to your modaco r5 method (I guess it should)

The radio image is not the FM Radio you're thinking, it will have impact on stuffs like your reception and using the 720p camcoder, so it's recommended to flash.

Okay, my last battery report for NextSense 5.3, the battery was 100% since 9am:

- Wifi was on when I was in office - means I'm on "Talk" most of the time, and with GMail, Twitter, weather and news sync
- Occasional web surfing during office hour and lunch time
- Turn on my phones for a few times and just navigate around the different home screens for fun tongue.gif
- A few phone calls attempt to make a LIMO booking to airport (it's really hard to get them to answer my call -.-)
- A few SMSes
- Ran a couple of Quadrant test (I notice the score is 60-100 less than previous version)

It's been 13 hours and I still have 40% of battery left, so I think I'm quite happy with it. My non-technical analysis says the battery juice is saved for 15-20% compare to the previous version of NextSense (no hard proof on this sorry)

The breakdown is as below:

Cell Standby - 33%
phone idle - 29%
wifi - 16%
android system - 13%
voice calls - 5%
Display - 4%

Other settings:
Down-clocked to 806Mhz with setcpu
Display brightness is around 40%

Hope it helps wink.gif

Anyone know how I can link up to my emails in Outlook? My outlook is acting as a POP/SMTP now and would like to have a duplicate set of emails on my phone. Is that possible? I mean I do not want emails downloaded onto the phone to be deleted off the server and thus will not be getting it on my PC.

Or are there an option to archive/remove old emails out from the phone to save on space?
