ehh. the nydus all so far away la. BC travel there take so long. i prefer to use banshee.

perdition? ehh. don't think i have that unit.

yamato kerrigan ah? heh, no time to build BC also. 3 bunkers always kena overrun. spam siege tank there. my longest duration was with a bunch of supply depot blocking kerrigan and have a bunch of STanks bombarding.

Added on August 6, 2010, 4:30 pmoh and another thing - i forgot to upgrade weapon / armor, which could've helped me. biggrin.gif

if you have no time to run for a nydus thats stationary and usually in ur base, you wont have time for brood lords thats camped damn far pew pewing broodlings in ur base.

and yes, no matter which mission you play (air or nydus) you NEED BC to yamato kerrigan. only damn way to get her out within 10 seconds.

I was just reading the US battle net forums and just realised something. The doctor in charge of the Moebius Foundation, his name is Dr. Narud. You spell that backwards and you get...brows.gif Coincidence? Wouldn't be surprised if his 1st name was Rimas laugh.gif

those you prolly can take ur time as the zerg will just suicide on ur defenses i reckon

ps: i havent play nydus yet since i straight mplayer ady.
though according to rad/tetra, its fairly easy and comparing experiences, i would say so. dealing with hydras/zerglings/roaches/ultra are NOTHING compared to pesky broodlords

use elevation to your advantage. Having less enemy air units around means your tanks will have fire initiative on the zerg.
Firing from 2 levels higher = they will never see you fire.

As for kerrigan, focusing fire on her would be the best option. Banshees + BC combo with a science vessel escort for repairs. SCV's would help too.

Depending on which protoss upgrade, (armor or weapons) upgrade those first.

I took weapons upgrade, which upgrades all attack speeds. The only way to beat Hard/Brutal easier is to capitalize on your upgrade you've made so far.

I did this mission with fully upgraded vikings, which took out air units so much easier with Science Vessel support for repairs.

I also researched the mind control beacon to MC zerg units when its capable. Awesome stuff that tower.

Don't know which you took, perhaps if you list it down i can recommend which path to take biggrin.gif

my path different. biggrin.gif more on the zerg, and no mind control. since i could reach 98.9%, technology is not an issue. it's just a matter of re-organization.

played whole day, reach final mission also a little worn out. will try again some other time.

as for elevation - not much elevation there la. so far successful is to use supply depot spam wall. helps quite a lot in keeping them hordes out.

You can play back any mission using the mission archives. Even the ones which you didn't choose.

Q about playing back old missions.

Example: you either choose safe haven or haven's fall (that girl doctor who has the hots for raynor). i chose safe haven, and got the 3/3 zerg research. then i replay haven's fall, but even after competing, i don't get the 3/3 protoss research. design or bug?

cos for example i first play mission X, but only get 1/3 zerg research, i can re-play it at casual and get 3/3 zerg research and I will get the extra 2 research points.

warfield = take out air? if take out air = problem, then you'll be disappointed.
broodlords from ALL direction and corruptors + overseer corruption is a PAIN IN THE ASS.

when i finished the mission my nova thingy got like 600 hp and its under heavy fire. loaded game quite a number of times. 30min mission took me around an hour to finish >.>

You guys talking about the last mission right?

Tychus (take out land) - Fun mission but suffer later....
General Warfield (take out air) - Boring mission but enjoy later...

Reason why i say having no flying zerg is better is because you don't have to worry about broodlord coming from the back. Even if you go with Tychus...you still get attacked by land unit, just lower volume. So basically if you choose Tychus, it simply means you have to defend both land & air units.

The trick to beat the last mission (All In) on Brutal or hard difficulty is to concentrate all your units in the middle (near the Mercenery building) You only need a couple of things :
1. Siege tank. LOTS OF THEM. Like at least 60% of your population.
2. Lots of marines, please reserve the number until Kerrigan appear. They are basically the bait for Kerrigan to shoot at, instead of letting Kerrigan one-hit-kill all your powerful units (eg. Tanks, Battlecruiser)
3. a few Science Vessel & SCV just to repair the stuff.
4. If you have research the little building that slow down the zerg...the game would be alot easier.

Banshees are fragile. Add in the fact that once the creep expands, they'll bring foward Spore Crawlers. Battlecruisers are better since they are much more durable and their Yamatos outrange Spore Crawlers.

Perdition turrets are useful especially for Zergling rushes. They burn the shit out of them in no time at all. And you get Perditions quite early in the game as well.

When you start the mission, immediately build a tech lab/tech reactor on the Starport they gave you. After it is done, start churning out at least 5 BCs. If possible, build 3 control groups of 5 Battlecruisers and position them at the middle of the map and at your two entrances at the base. When Nydus Worms bust out, send the nearest control group to take care of it before it can even flood your base. When Kerrigan comes, immediately order 2 of the control groups and tell them ALL to Yamato her.

aight!

1. done that earlier.
2. on my later attempts, i notice that marine spam is helpful for less costly decoy, just as you said, and somehow the guns are helpful too.
3. i didn't use.
4. don't have.

i thought of huddling together at mercenary area but didn't do so in the end cos the xel'naga artifact left open.

For the secret mission, it seems you cannot access is anymore if you landed on Char already in your current campaign.
To play it you got 2 choices:

- Load a save where you were before the Media Blitz mission or during it (Media Blitz = the mission where you unlock secret mission)
- Redo a whole campaign.

As for doing a new campaign, you restart without any leftover tech/upgrades you had in your other save, it's like when you just installed the game

Actually, you can also reload the campaign any time before Char. I did this and managed to get the secret mission.
