if hard mode was 10, I'd rate normal mode as 1. sooooooo different.

last mission, hard mode i reach 98.9% to end up fail. normal mode 1 time finish, no reload. no base breach.

any tips on the redstone part? mission 6 i think...i playing hard mode...need to mine those gold mineral for 8k...found out not tat easy lol
lava mission? yeah that one easy actually.

what i did was mass up some infantry and go taking down enemy bases 1 by 1. each base clear, then only i continue harvesting. clear the bases on the right side first.

you also get a research point if you destroy that donno what thing at bottom right. do that just before you finish harvesting resource.

ehh, that mission rescue people? that one hard mode also quite easy.

i think the extrating the 7 pieces from protoss that one can be tricky............ also, i didn't realize V is for advanced structures. tongue.gif until much later on during multiplayer. damn blur.

warfield = take out air? if take out air = problem, then you'll be disappointed.
broodlords from ALL direction and corruptors + overseer corruption is a PAIN IN THE ASS.
yup. i thought take out air mean ok la i have peace of BC going around.

no need worry about those other things. when they say that tunnel around, i didn't expect it to be THAT crazy in swarm. (and my oversight that zerg ground forces are stronger than air).

aihh.

ehh. the nydus all so far away la. BC travel there take so long. i prefer to use banshee.

perdition? ehh. don't think i have that unit.

yamato kerrigan ah? heh, no time to build BC also. 3 bunkers always kena overrun. spam siege tank there. my longest duration was with a bunch of supply depot blocking kerrigan and have a bunch of STanks bombarding.

Added on August 6, 2010, 4:30 pmoh and another thing - i forgot to upgrade weapon / armor, which could've helped me. biggrin.gif

if you have no time to run for a nydus thats stationary and usually in ur base, you wont have time for brood lords thats camped damn far pew pewing broodlings in ur base.

and yes, no matter which mission you play (air or nydus) you NEED BC to yamato kerrigan. only damn way to get her out within 10 seconds.
hrm. the nydus in base usually not problem la. it's the one outside i find being problem. or you guys don't take out those being far away?

my path different. biggrin.gif more on the zerg, and no mind control. since i could reach 98.9%, technology is not an issue. it's just a matter of re-organization.

played whole day, reach final mission also a little worn out. will try again some other time.

as for elevation - not much elevation there la. so far successful is to use supply depot spam wall. helps quite a lot in keeping them hordes out.

The trick to beat the last mission (All In) on Brutal or hard difficulty is to concentrate all your units in the middle (near the Mercenery building) You only need a couple of things :
1. Siege tank. LOTS OF THEM. Like at least 60% of your population.
2. Lots of marines, please reserve the number until Kerrigan appear. They are basically the bait for Kerrigan to shoot at, instead of letting Kerrigan one-hit-kill all your powerful units (eg. Tanks, Battlecruiser)
3. a few Science Vessel & SCV just to repair the stuff.
4. If you have research the little building that slow down the zerg...the game would be alot easier.
*
aight!

1. done that earlier.
2. on my later attempts, i notice that marine spam is helpful for less costly decoy, just as you said, and somehow the guns are helpful too.
3. i didn't use.
4. don't have.

i thought of huddling together at mercenary area but didn't do so in the end cos the xel'naga artifact left open.

QUOTE(radkliler @ Aug 7 2010, 01:13 AM)
Banshees are fragile. Add in the fact that once the creep expands, they'll bring foward Spore Crawlers. Battlecruisers are better since they are much more durable and their Yamatos outrange Spore Crawlers.

Perdition turrets are useful especially for Zergling rushes. They burn the shit out of them in no time at all. And you get Perditions quite early in the game as well.

When you start the mission, immediately build a tech lab/tech reactor on the Starport they gave you. After it is done, start churning out at least 5 BCs. If possible, build 3 control groups of 5 Battlecruisers and position them at the middle of the map and at your two entrances at the base. When Nydus Worms bust out, send the nearest control group to take care of it before it can even flood your base. When Kerrigan comes, immediately order 2 of the control groups and tell them ALL to Yamato her.
*
banshees are quite alright, 6 - 8 of them takes down the spores easily. minimal damage.

i spend most of my resources on siege tanks. 2 factories spam kau kau.

btw thanks guys for the ideas.

I think they just need to get rid of the current voice actors and whoever who wrote the lines for the characters. The current cast is awful and the characters feel plain and lifeless. Kerrigan reminds me of EDI from ME2,except now, she's the hostile version. Yeah, it's the same actress, but i remembered she sounded different in C&C3.

If EA still sucks in the fanboy's eyes, at least EA knows how to make their game's sound effects fantastic. Blizzard on the other hand, clearly has lost some of it's charm from their older games. SC1 sounds awesome, even back in the days with those crappy build in speakers. Even till now, i think SC1 have some really memorable sounds and speech lines like "This is not Warcraft in space" by Artanis. SC2's sound is no where near even to games like C&C3 or DoW. At least a Space Marine sounds convincingly like an overzealous super soldier in DoW, or NOD's Flame Tank guy sounds like crazy guy but SC2's zealot sounds like some generic alien now as the bass-like sound effect isnt there now. Still, no one would really care in the long run if they are playing SC2 competitively, but still, it does ruin the immersion for those who want to enjoy the SP.
*
i played with headphone through the way, the sound effects are pretty much SC1. biggrin.gif which I don't blame them. i think they're trying to keep it as it is, after all being SC2. They just enhanced the quality of the unit voices.

As to the actors behind the voices, the one i didn't like the most was the high pitched nassal-problem voice of that scientist.

i'm not picky on sound-effects, i think overall SC2's sound effects were still good, though just using pretty much the previous one.

frankly I'm not expecting something so outstanding cos it is the continuation of SC. i thought the mission things were great but i find it annoying that i had to replay the campaign just to play Lost Viking.

lastly, shouldn't this conversation be on the other thread about what we didn't like about SC2? smile.gif leave this thread for the campaign mission Q&A perhaps.

lol... what a slowpoke i was... hey guys, there's a mission where i'm required to collect 6k of mineral to buy over mira han. how to pass that mission ha? tongue.gif sounds rather difficult. if i don train units, i'll get harassed. if i develop, i don hav enuf resources.
*
hehe. imagine you play hard mode requirement is NOT build any SCV until you acquire the contract (which is, reaching 6k).

you play what mode i donno la so i gonna assume normal mode.

here's what i do

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

in hard mode it's pretty much the same process, just you don't build any SCV until you reach 6k minerals. and oh, pick up the minerals from all over the place. it'll help a lot.

the harder the mode, the faster Orlan gathers minerals and the stronger the harassing forces.

the idea is to strike balance with training units and gathering resources.

if you one shot spam 5 marines, you lose 250 minerals. no point. just put 1 marine and 1 scv first. then only you go queue the rest. if got enough resources, can even upgrade with engineering bay.
