QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 6 2010, 02:53 PM) yeah i choose warfield la, that's why got problem in final mission. warfield = take out air? if take out air = problem, then you'll be disappointed.btw is it possible to reverse the decision without replaying the whole campaign? broodlords from ALL direction and corruptors + overseer corruption is a PAIN IN THE ASS. when i finished the mission my nova thingy got like 600 hp and its under heavy fire. loaded game quite a number of times. 30min mission took me around an hour to finish >.> |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 6 2010, 03:59 PM) yup. i thought take out air mean ok la i have peace of BC going around. no dude, thats what im telling you, zerg air would be much deadlier than you think roflno need worry about those other things. when they say that tunnel around, i didn't expect it to be THAT crazy in swarm. (and my oversight that zerg ground forces are stronger than air). aihh. dont believe, just play it and you'll see rofl. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 6 2010, 04:04 PM) ehh. having air tougher? brood lords are a pain. makes any zerg ground forces look like a walk in the park. nydus in ur svc or not. then that overlord drop oTLhard mode is a killer. covered my entire base in creep, corrupting my key buildings (lol bunkers that cant fire) and having mutas/overseer/brood lord/corruptors coming from all directions matt horner was goin ape shit on my commlink telling me to go nova >.> |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 6 2010, 04:28 PM) ehh. the nydus all so far away la. BC travel there take so long. i prefer to use banshee. if you have no time to run for a nydus thats stationary and usually in ur base, you wont have time for brood lords thats camped damn far pew pewing broodlings in ur base.perdition? ehh. don't think i have that unit. yamato kerrigan ah? heh, no time to build BC also. 3 bunkers always kena overrun. spam siege tank there. my longest duration was with a bunch of supply depot blocking kerrigan and have a bunch of STanks bombarding. Added on August 6, 2010, 4:30 pmoh and another thing - i forgot to upgrade weapon / armor, which could've helped me. and yes, no matter which mission you play (air or nydus) you NEED BC to yamato kerrigan. only damn way to get her out within 10 seconds. Added on August 6, 2010, 4:53 pm QUOTE(verx @ Aug 6 2010, 04:34 PM) I was just reading the US battle net forums and just realised something. QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 6 2010, 05:04 PM) hrm. the nydus in base usually not problem la. it's the one outside i find being problem. or you guys don't take out those being far away? those you prolly can take ur time as the zerg will just suicide on ur defenses i reckonps: i havent play nydus yet since i straight mplayer ady. though according to rad/tetra, its fairly easy and comparing experiences, i would say so. dealing with hydras/zerglings/roaches/ultra are NOTHING compared to pesky broodlords |

QUOTE(PrivateJohn @ Aug 7 2010, 12:46 AM) You guys talking about the last mission right? QFT this. brood lords made me cry so hard D:Tychus (take out land) - Fun mission but suffer later.... General Warfield (take out air) - Boring mission but enjoy later... Reason why i say having no flying zerg is better is because you don't have to worry about broodlord coming from the back. Even if you go with Tychus...you still get attacked by land unit, just lower volume. So basically if you choose Tychus, it simply means you have to defend both land & air units. The trick to beat the last mission (All In) on Brutal or hard difficulty is to concentrate all your units in the middle (near the Mercenery building) You only need a couple of things : 1. Siege tank. LOTS OF THEM. Like at least 60% of your population. 2. Lots of marines, please reserve the number until Kerrigan appear. They are basically the bait for Kerrigan to shoot at, instead of letting Kerrigan one-hit-kill all your powerful units (eg. Tanks, Battlecruiser) 3. a few Science Vessel & SCV just to repair the stuff. 4. If you have research the little building that slow down the zerg...the game would be alot easier. as for kerrigan though, i beg to differ. surely you may lose like 2-3 BCs. but the satisfaction of yamato spamming kerrigan to hell is priceless LOL Added on August 8, 2010, 6:15 am QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 7 2010, 03:36 AM) aight! i got 3 factories and 4 or 5 starports spamming units like crazy lawl. and still... f*** broodlords1. done that earlier. 2. on my later attempts, i notice that marine spam is helpful for less costly decoy, just as you said, and somehow the guns are helpful too. 3. i didn't use. 4. don't have. i thought of huddling together at mercenary area but didn't do so in the end cos the xel'naga artifact left open. banshees are quite alright, 6 - 8 of them takes down the spores easily. minimal damage. i spend most of my resources on siege tanks. 2 factories spam kau kau. btw thanks guys for the ideas. QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 10 2010, 01:31 PM) All the game reviews say voice acting good lah, dialogue good lah, makes you feel for the characters lah, etc etc, but I didn't feel that. A lot of the dialogue, especially the 'optional' ones just feel unnatural/forced/static. Like 2 people reading a script. i dont even bother with the reviews. i felt that it was epic for me, and the characters was engaging enough for me, thats that.Anyway I finally managed to finish All In on Hard. Took like 4 tries, and even then also all my defenses kaput liao when the artifact was at 100%. I don't see how brutal will be possible as for the last mission, so long you take out air, i doubt it will be really hard. |

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Aug 11 2010, 12:12 AM) It was in this thread: posts deleted. he basically copy pasta that thing, and pasted it twice in this thread. and of course the other thread (hey, copy pasta is still copy pasta)http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1513204 Somewhere in the middle for kianweic post and then some people reactions after (including mine) RPS article was: RPS "Tosh... How apt" I am fairly disappointed by Blizzard job in the SC2 characters and scripts writing really, it's an accumulation of cliches and the dialogs are pretty weak. I know it's not a RPG but still, I expected better from Blizz and I didnt remember War3 or SC1 to be that bad, in my memory they had bigger twists, character building and "woaw" moments. I enjoyed the SP overall and especially the missions which at least were varied, its more the in-between story which was streched out and hollow in my opinion. Hopefully it's better in HotS or I will be a bit disappointed Blizz. I also agree with Cheeze, DoW2 (Spesh Marheeens arent supposed to be Shakespeares) or CoH (WW2 random joes) managed to put more life in their voice acting without having such charismatic characters as SC2 |

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Aug 11 2010, 08:40 AM) @Quazacolt: it's not deleted, it's in the thread I linked i was referring the posts here.@Cheese: yep, I think the graphics guys should get a raise done with the salaries of the script writers. The menus and interface (like in Hyperion) are very well done and lots of small details. But script writing was awful and full of one-liner. It's not SupCom2 bad but it's a bit far from what I expected from Blizz And quite funny your mention of Kerrigan being an evil EDI, true she was quite badly used in mostly 1-2 lines evil sentence "You can't stop me" "You will all die" "Nao I kill j00!" |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 11 2010, 11:16 AM) i played with headphone through the way, the sound effects are pretty much SC1. i played with 5.1 surround sound, the voice and cinematics are very, well, movie like. full surround sound. so yeah, epic for me LOLAs to the actors behind the voices, the one i didn't like the most was the high pitched nassal-problem voice of that scientist. i'm not picky on sound-effects, i think overall SC2's sound effects were still good, though just using pretty much the previous one. frankly I'm not expecting something so outstanding cos it is the continuation of SC. i thought the mission things were great but i find it annoying that i had to replay the campaign just to play Lost Viking. lastly, shouldn't this conversation be on the other thread about what we didn't like about SC2? Added on August 11, 2010, 11:16 ambtw the medic's voice is sexy. and yeah, well said. btw, why dont you move the i hate sc2 thread to the sub forum? so ALL the sc2 hate can be focused on 1 spot, and they can have fun with themselves instead of every thread getting derailed with their petty hatred Added on August 11, 2010, 11:45 am QUOTE(styrwr91 @ Aug 11 2010, 11:38 AM) spam diamond backsThis post has been edited by Quazacolt: Aug 11 2010, 11:45 AM |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 11 2010, 12:27 PM) I played with head phones too, and it's the same one i used for any other games i play. i personally think its too much, but hey, maybe its the G500 with the x-fi titaniumsIm not complaining about some of the old voices are there, it's just that, it lacks of a unique feel in it with some of the new ones. Im happy to heard Probe's original sound in the game, but units like Zealot or HT's new lines does feel a bit lacking compared to original. Especially HT. Overlord's new sound is terrible too, with a guy moaning sound, compared to the original which is great. The lines are bland and mostly are just one liners in the campaign. The explosion sound effects or any other sound effects, are decent. Some of the sounds like the new Siege Tank sound, i think it's great. Still, the sounds in SC2 is no where close to a CoH quality or BFBC2's bass overdone sound effects. SC2's sounds feels like there is not enough bass. The graphics is outstanding, i dont see why the sound effects shouldnt get a huge improvement, as sound is still a part of the immersion of the game. I think, it's more like Blizzard is indeed weak in the sound department, after Starcraft or Diablo. Or Blizzard's competitor have just outdone them by far. |

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Aug 11 2010, 01:01 PM) It's not petty hate really, it's just some complaints and discussion. if it was just merely complaints and discussion here and there pertaining to the thread title, that is absolutely fine. however, look around, and look at other threads around you, and the snowballing result that spawned more "criticizing" (or as i would prefer it, hating) threads.I liked the game overall so I am no hater. Didnt think it was a bother to others to have people discussing if its just one person's problem/fault/opinion (namely mine right here) then obviously it wouldn't be an issue to the rest of the forumers. however, even goldfries himself posted a notion against it and there are other forumers not just me in the same agreement. Added on August 11, 2010, 2:34 pm QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 11 2010, 01:05 PM) yeah why are you doing here anyways? if you don't hate sc2, wouldn't it be better if you just play sc2 instead of beating that dead horse over and over again? This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Aug 11 2010, 02:34 PM |

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Aug 11 2010, 05:07 PM) Man you react a tad too touchily here.... was just discussing the game... which is the purpose of the subforum really. you asked me why, i answered you why, nothing more nothing less.I like it but like all games it has part you like and parts you do not like I don't really give a crap about what others said or did, I was just posting my own comments or impressions for the game, you shouldnt come down to me like this because others did something right? Guess critics or comments which do not praise SC2 have to be parked into a special topic to not spread their criticism to others, that would be bad really. Won't be posting in "your" subforum anymore until HotS come out I guess, no worries, leaving Zealots together. /Gormaz out and honestly, if you really dont give a crap bout what others said or did, surely, you dont have to give a crap about what i said or did right? emo quitin sure doesn't show that. and hell, if it's really *MY* sub forum, things would be, lets just say, VERY different than what it is now. |
