I just got my iphone4G from SG.. i insert my Maxis SIM card and connect to Itune.. and my phone shows emergency call only.. And itune shows THE SIM CARD INSERTED IN THIS IPHONE IS PIN LOCKED. PLS ENTER THE PIN CODE OF YOUR SIM CARD AND CONNECT YOUR IPHONE TO ITUNES AGAIN..

Pls advice what happend?

You got it from Apple.com/sg online store? or those shop selling handphone in sg?

i got it from Signing a Contract with Starthub.. why so strange? i cut my micro sim myself..

I think it is trying to unlock the SIM so that it can determine the network you're connected to before authorizing the phone.

No thats not what I meant. I mean possibly the SIM card that you put in has SIM lock already. Also possibly, iTunes require network identification before it can determine your location and honor activation based on your region. Again possibly...

If the SIM card you put in is confirmed to be new and doesn't have SIM lock, then you may ignore this. Maybe it is a genuine issue.

u mean it need the original Starhub Sim? Possible meh? I am using iphone3G since 08, also singtel set.. No such thing 1 oo.. Even doing a firmware upgrade each time.. also can activate via Itune with no problem...
OK.. JUST A QUICK UPDATE.. It WORKS NOW.. I just do a trick !!.. Guys, pls take note.. if you have this problem.. Pls do this trick.. FIRST TURN OFF ANY SIM PIN check from your phone.. Then, only switch to IPHONE4.. It is working now.. I can see Maxis logo lol..tq

guys, does any of u experience call dropping using iphone 4?

my fifth day of using it, never experienced drop call. 3G is quite stable also (maxis). i tried putting one finger over the dead spot on the antenna, no problem. tried grabbing/covering it with my hand, drop from two bar to one bar (which is actually quite good cos signal near my place is quite terrible). my htc legend was actually even worse.

so, ya, iPhone 4 IS THE BEST PHONE ON EARTH.
one bar dropping isn't an issue at all.

I'm on Digi Prepaid, after i updated to 4.1, my iPhone kept giving me this message "Sorry, msg not sent. Please reload to enjoy continuous service." If you guys are wondering, yes my credit is 0 right now, when i got my phone for the first time it also keep showing me this message when my credit is 0, so i don't know is it normal or not.

nope. 3g & cell data on 24/7

the maxis 3G signal in my house is quite poor. one to two bar. same thing on my bro's desire and on my previous htc legend.
cupping the iPhone 4 with my hand did not produce any drop in signal nor dropped calls. but previously when i was using legend.. haih~ i had to hold the phone with 2 fingers. if i cup with my hand, sure putus wan..

Tourist trap spots usually sells the iPhone 4 but at a cut throat price. I'm not too sure but I think Lucky Plaza at Orchard Road should have resellers with stock there. I've heard these units are also parallel importeded from US/EU but I cannot confirm if it's true. You need a thread member whose recently been to Singapore to inform you of more places.

iPhone 4 white is out already ah? i can only find black units available..

btw guys if i buy the iPhone 4 from apple store in singapore..can the iPhone be used in Malaysia without any problem?

white iphone will only be out in january.
all iphones from singapore are unlocked and you can use it with any sim card in any country

lol...i after 2 hours order again..then the date diff d too...
