Hi, got a question to the Dolce-Gusto users. How are the espresso from the machine taste comparing to those from Starbucks, Coffee Bean or Levain? ... I have tried the ones made from a Nespresso machine and it taste almost perfect to my humble opinion. And very consistent as they are fully automated ... proper amount of water and pressure to make a full aromatic cup of creamy black gold :-P
I tried once during a demo at Parkson by a Nescafe staff demonstrating the Piccolo and somehow its just not there (i hope its because that staff don't really know how to make a good cup of espresso when its not a fully automated machine) .... so now i'm leaning towards CBTL since getting a Nespresso machine seems like a hassle as they don't really have a distributor here. Anyone can give comment on espresso from a CBTL machine? Thanks .. This post has been edited by patrickfam: Nov 2 2011, 10:18 AM |

from reviews, cbtl espresso > dolce gusto and even nespresso (some said). I am leaning towards a cbtl machine too.
Also theres currently a 20% discount off cbtl machines using american express card. A good buy now This post has been edited by Jun-1: Nov 2 2011, 11:34 AM |

This machine only can use with the nescafe capsule and no others. I can't use others brand or bean on this machine. What if the market here no more this capsule. Also 1 day if I bored with this nescafe taste, I can't use others bean on it. So it will become display set in my home. |

QUOTE(entered2exit @ Aug 7 2011, 12:57 PM) hey guys, i'm interested in purchasing a machine from amazon website, and using a third party shipping company to ship from US to malaysia. have anyone done this before? amazon does not ship internationally for most electronic products, and vpost singapore (https://www.vpost.com.sg/vpost/index1.jsp) charges approximately 400sgd to ship the whole machine (63 pounds) to malaysia. Check the machine voltage first, I fried my Delonghi from Amazon plugging it into Australia's 230V mains (Malaysia uses 240v). American equipment can only tahan 120V. The third party shipping can be pretty shitty, depends on your luck, my came late and Amazon refunded the shipping fee.the only thing i'm worried is custom duties. just afraid that the malaysia customs might hold the whole machine back because its an electronic product and charge taxes on it. anyone done this before? i think the prices of these machines are way cheaper on amazon than buying them straight here through a dealer.. |

Bought my Vibiemme locally. Slightly more expensive, but for convenience sake, all worth it. |

True regarding the limited choices of coffee you have by using capsules. That's cons of having full automated espresso machines. On the other hand, because it's capsulized, you get the consistency of the coffee outcome. Did try the coffee. Somehow the brew smell not that good. Give it a so so brew or normal coffee judge. Unless of course, the manufacturer screw up a certain batch of coffee during process For the manual machines, where you need to get a proper burr grinder, bean storage, milk frother timing - it's too much work just for one morning cup. |

Hey guys, any dolce gusto users here? After much research and consideration, I've decided to get that machine for my hubby's b'day. CBTL came in very close but the thought of buying the milk frother separately was quite a turn off coz that's like spending close to RM1k for the whole set. I've already found someone from the UK who can bring in those various dolce gusto pods so there's alot of variety.

If not mistaken the dolce gusto doesn't actually frother the milk but rather use milk capsules right? If so, I doubt the taste of the latte would be good. The CBTL milk frother allows variety of milk choices (soya included I tried the Delonghi machine from a colleague's purchase, too much mess it made. The so call steam wand doesn't give enough steam to make the milk bubbly |

I tried the Mocha and it's good. Only problem is they lack variety unlike CBTL. But I'm shipping some of the different flavors in so no problems there. Hope it's easy to operate though. Okay guess I dont even need to consider Delonghi then, hehe |

Not worth it unless you're going to open a home barista cafe This post has been edited by shakku: Dec 21 2011, 12:42 PM |

got my self a kaldi before the year ended, had 20% off on the price. personally i feel the dolce gusto milk is not advisable as you want the milk to be fresh, of course the bosch tassimo is also doing the same thing, but the milk last for 3 months,
anyway personal preference pros and cons, CBTL you want milk you got to buy and keep in fridge, Dolce gusto, milk available anytime. i still feel if you want a good cup of expresso, the best is let the machine do the work, unless you love to experiment. the pressure and amount of water all decided by machine. call me lazy but early in the morning except sat and sun i probably wont have so much time to get the right amount of water. currently our country only have CBTL and Dolce gusto as comment, others like nespresso and tassimo not common yet, plus the pods supply is important, For me CBTL is convenient as most shopping complex has CBTL, same goes with Dolce gusto, |

I just tried the Dulce Gusto espresso at my local Tesco. Good enough for me. i like a little nicer coffee but i'm no connoisseur. so a rm300+ machine is good enough for me.
I need decaf though and they don't have that in Malaysia, anyone knows if i can buy it online? i found 1 online source but they don't ship overseas. |
