QUOTE(stimix @ Oct 17 2011, 04:13 PM) The capsule style coffee maker esp Nescfa now selling everywhere...Too bad already sweetened..so diabetic will shy away Averagely it cost RM1.30 per pod which makes it quite cheap for a quality coffee like such. Presently there are four flavours namely cappuccino, latte macchiato, mocha and expresso. They will be adding more flavours in the future.

Jusco 1U and the home store on ground floor have them. I'm verrrry interested in these machines. Piccolo is RM398-410 and Circolo is RM700+. In the long run not too expensive, like you said RM1.30 for the black coffee. Plus it also only comes up to RM3.50 for the 'fancy' drinks that use the 2 pods (coffee + milk). The full range of capsules can be seen here - http://www.dolce-gusto.us/Products/Capsule-Flavors.aspx. Do hope they bring the other flavors in .. if not have to hoard when go on holidays overseas.

It's not really the price of the capsule but weather they cater for diebetic..I saw they dun seperate the sugar as the content include sugar - wrong marketing by avoiding those diebetic

Other options for diabetics or just have to drink espresso instead with the Dolce Gusto? Maybe try CBTL. Saw those at Isetan KLCC. Seem to have better options of capsules, a bit cheaper for those .. but the machine is pricier 800-1k. At that price point is it better to buy a low-end espresso machine rather than capsule/pod?

I was going to go for CBTL machine but now my family budget has gone elsewhere so have to wait a bit. I did write up a comparison between CBTL vs Dolce Gusto on my blog ( link), this is just from my research this past week.

I've been thinking of the piccolo since I saw it last Saturday!! My only worry is the size of the drink... Only about 200-220ml... Very small cup!

The price quoted in Jusco was RM28.00 for 16 capsules for all 4 flavours available now. I also found out that you need to de-scale the water tank from time to time for the machine and you have to buy the de-scaling agent from the sole distributor. Later stages more flavours are coming out even Milo.

Descale? Meaning? Clean out the pipes? That's probably part of maintenance. Only problem is pricing is controlled by Nestlé, and they can raise prices anytime n u r stuck buying their capsules Update:descaling will be required when u have hard water, like in London. In our parts, if you use filtered water, it should be fine Found some unused jusco vouchers... Gonna buy the machine tomorrow This post has been edited by Gilthoniel: Oct 25 2011, 08:37 AM

with the price of buying the machine and coffee pods, have indirectly using the $$ to drink alot of coffee already. RM430++ can drink alot of coffee already. alot of hidden cost buying pod and maintaining the machine. 1500 watts is quite high voltage for using the machine
