HTC Desire IS the answer. If you mean between those 3, i would say DHD if you don't mind the extremely short battery life, Aria for being overpriced, and Wildfire lagging your life out.

Nexus S for the very long battery life and dev phone capability. ANY os updates will go to Nexus S first. Galaxy S for the better GPU which will last you around 1-2 more years of high end gaming.

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Jan 26 2011, 06:46 PM) If I'm down to those 2 choices, I'll buy the Nexus S. ^ i believe they have identical GPUs. If so then you're wrong. SGS has a PowerVR SGX540 while the Nexus S has SGX535(If im not mistaken). The GPU In the Nexus S is the same as the iPhone 4. The one in the SGS is almost twice as powerful as the one in Nexus S

Impossible as they pack the same battery capacity and Nexus S is running Vanilla.

Heres another one. Look at the Samsung Fascinate result. Nexus S uses a SGX535 but they listed it as 540. This post has been edited by xDarkKnightx: Jan 26 2011, 09:23 PM

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Jan 26 2011, 09:23 PM) lol i won't call 0.6FPS difference 'twice as powerful'. Those differences can be safely considered normal experimental datas. Even on a Desire Z I get FPS scores on the Neocore benchmark ranging from 55 to 59 FPS. And there're a lot of conflicting reports of whether it's SGX 540 or 335. Oh yeah here's a little reading material from XDA, with link to a teardown confirming the GPU in Nexus S is SGX 540. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...t=876110&page=2 Explain this then. Nexus S even scored a lower FPS in games compared to the SGS/Vibrant/Captivate. Added on January 27, 2011, 4:07 pmAlso, for the conflict in different FPS rates, its because the benchmarks are not meant for Gingerbread. You can go for Droid 2 if you're more to multitasking BUT it has a GPU 2 generations back. Desire Z has an Adreno 205 which is equal to the SGX535 iirc. iPhone 4 uses an SGX535 too and since most games are developed on the iPhone, you wouldn't have to change your phone for another 2 years or so. For the Droid 2, the next refresh(which is in june/july) for the iphone will have a much better GPU and the Droid 2's GPU will be rendered useless.

As i stated in my earlier comment, GPU>CPU in gaming. SGX535>SGX530 which means Desire Z>Droid 2.

The phone sucks. Why do you even want it? The Optimus One is better.
