When U mobile 3G is not available, usually the U mobile sim card would change to celcom 2G network.

the problem was the package that i subscribed oh my gosh promo i think...because in that promotion u need to pay only rm100 for activation fees no need to pay upfront payment rm68 u68 package...no wonder my speed was below 500kbps as if my speed is capped...they took 2 weeks to solve the problems and just found out system error....and i was the one that told them the error was the system NOT my PC...OMG....thanks to senior CS agent i think....acknowledged my problems and fix it right away....well gonna enjoy my speed now and would consider to take umobile prepaid as well...

can your rm28/mth roam on Celcom 2G data, i strongly believe it can, care to test it out as u are subscribed to it and can u go online using a modem instead on your fon?

As for the 2G, I don't think can as yesterday i went to KLCC and when the signal for the U mobile signal is weak, it changed to celcom and i can no longer surf till i get back the 3G signal.

However, I am not sure about it as the signal also might be too weak for the internet connection, but so far, i never see that there are data transmission from my phone when U mobile 3G is not available.

do try to contact 1318, the "unlimited" data in prepaid plan should be able to roam to Celcom,

and it is can be used to tether la (but the 500mb full speed still in tact), just to be clear,
no different ma, just need to some setup like the apn=my3g

Hi, I bought a E1762 modem from maxis and try on with the UB10 to test for the speed.
Unfortunately, when the time i click connect i will have the problem of connection terminated.
And the signal shown is Celcom edge.
Is it my area unable to UB plan?
Or is it the modem problem?
I already tried the services activate the Remote control xx xxx and also the telephony and delete a file in the all users account.
none of them works..
now is already too late for me to try it on another area..hope someone can gives me some clues..

put your UM sim into a 3G fon and "force" the network settings to only WCDMA and see weather u can see UM3G, if yes means your area is covered by UM3G, btw where is your location?

This is the problem that I'm facing recently, authentication gets rejected by UM network each time I tried to connect with Huawei USB modems.
Both E1550 and E1762 are affected.

No such issues with ZTE modems. They connect flawlessly.

There is Lahat which is nearest to you. Then Pengkalan Station 18, Pasir Pinji Village, Pasir Putih, Jln Pasir Putih, Jln. Yang Kalsom(city centre).
My area is in between both ends nearer to the city centre.

Looking at uMobile site everyone gets to trial the 42mbps speed provided they have the right equipment.

Be it UB6 to UB68, you still can achieve 42mbps but with lower volume before it goes PAYU.

While Klang Valley, Ipoh and Seremban (Central Regions) will be getting LTE?

Now here comes the not so good news.

If the LTE upgrade is true, then those of us who live within LTE coverage will not see much improvement for our existing HSPA modems because LTE is not as backward compatible as HSPA+ 42mbps.

With a Huawei MiFi HSPA device, although I'm getting slightly improved upload speeds(around 300kbps), my downloads can never reach 2mbps as previously. All these even with full signal bars.

If upgrades is in place, we should be getting something nearer to 5mbps but I'm no where near that.

and by the way 500mb is a lot if you're going to use the SIM entirely inside a smartphone without teethering as a phone modem & watching Youtube on it.

This is from experience that Youtube app is one of the highest consumer of bandwidth.

Smartphone app downloads and news/weather updates won't take that much bandwidth.
