hope they enable the front camera. serious disappointment for the front camera.

okies 1st step open microB

2nd open xterm and type those command

3rd close xterm and view microB..

am i doing it right sifu

Guess what? This news is leaked from Chinese website; Supposedly the team is now passed down to China company? They seems to have a lot of information on this, as well as many upcoming Nokia phones. They have more information than those people in talk.maemo forum. It was also them who leak the news in talk.maemo forum....
Even the N9 and C7 information.... was leak from chinese site/forums...

its really hard to say when, but nokia surely working on something for the n900 to keep us quiet and begging for more. they wont abandon n900 completely but just give dumb updates that has no major changes - to keep it in their shadow so that we will buy N9 or whatever comes next.

you can see most n900 buyers from overseas are already owners of n800 or n810 or the older n770.

like i said i dont see much changes coming, they are busy playing with the new babies meego and symbian^3 and the future symbian^4.

for example, flash 10 is NEVER coming to N900, thats what nokia said... because they are concentrating on meego and flash 10 for meego because intel is pushing them to meet deadlines... since its a joint-effort with intel.

Kernel Tweaking - linux swap usage

'sudo gainroot'
cd /etc/init.d/
open rcS in leafpad or any text editor
scroll all the way down until you see

'echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness'

change it to

'echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness'

then add these few lines directly below it

'echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_expire_centisecs'
'echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs'
'echo 60 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_background_ratio'
'echo 95 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio'

Changes implemented with these values -

- most importantly, battery life will get slightly better, but for some users you might not see any difference. most programs will stay in RAM when launched and only use swap when necessary.

- secondly you will see some tasks will become faster since eMMC is rarely accessed for swap and this will free up I/O for other tasks. (e.g. playing MP3, video is smoother)

- it will reduce virtual memory usage (linux swap) to a minimum and only use it when absolutely needed, memory full.

- if you multitask like crazy then there will be slight delay when memory pages are moved between the eMMC and RAM. this is normal
PS :

note 1- please record down all original values and changes that you made

note 2 - you need to reboot to see the changes

note 3 - you can revert back to original setting by editing the same file and using the original values, so write down the original values someplace before editing

note 4 - you also might want to back up the original file in case you are scared that you might screw it up

okay maybe it's funny..i ordered a clear case + matte sp even before i got my N900.

strange thing is black resin snap on case seem to be hot grabbing items, everyone run out of stock.

Anyone using clear case, is it that BULK like what peeps said?

about case....i love N900 nude.....with one pc slim see through SP 
btw N900 matte body is hard to get scratch on it....but the LCD frame need to be more carefull
cos N900 is already huge....wearing a case become.....
