Well, dissembling a phone is easier than laptop provided u know the method and have all the tools
Laptop got more components and screws with different sizes. Its gonna be confusing after u dismantle everything |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jul 22 2010, 07:55 PM) Screw VT.I always use physical keyboard. This 1 of the main reason I got N900. Yea, if dismantle more than 50 times for the same model, it become easy Even after 4 months of constant usage,my sliding mechanism is still tight. It's so tight that there's a 1 very thin line at each side of the keyboard After u dismantle few things you'll get used to it. |

QUOTE(jalanbesi @ Jul 25 2010, 07:49 PM) hi, i just order my ap set n900 (RM1299). i'm newbie for this n900, so before it arrive i got few questions, hope u people dun mind to answer it : 1. nop u cant, unless u use some free program or buy premium doc to go for 30USD1. can it edit doc/xls doc out of the box? 2. can play 720p hd movie? (coz i look some android tablet with 600mhz proc claim can play 720p hd movie, by logic n900 should be able to play too/no?) 3. how does the photo gallery broswer? show all photos or show folder like computer? 4. i guess that's first, got many questions, but forgot already...hahaha.... quite excited waiting it arrive. 2. nop u cant also, i tried 1280x720 mp4, cant play. p/s: I dont understand why wana watch 720p on a 480p (close to) screen? waste memory and battery if it is playable. 3. photobrowser and fast in zooming but the scrolling framerate is not up to par with N97. U cant mark the pictures unlike N97. |

QUOTE(jalanbesi @ Jul 25 2010, 08:24 PM) ic, so basicaly it would play normal/dvdrip movie smoothly or will it lag? If not mistaken is FreOffice~i'm planning to use n900 to replace my notebook when i'm on the go/at ship, so no need to bring heavy notebook anymore. btw, i was asking about 720p coz most movie i had is in 720p. and can tell me what the free app name to edit doc/xls file? also, how does n900 perform compare to n97? in term of usage, battery life. thx Basically those 700mb movie, 350mb english series could be watched without any problem, but I cant fast forward the movie though. But so far I've been watching them through wifi where they are shared in my desktop and I just watch directly from my phone through wifi and certain video can fast forward certain cant. Codec limitation i guess. Usage wise, I love the 50-60fps of kinetic scrolling in Music player and photo gallery in N97 compared to N900 because N900 scrolling rate is low. I am sure this can be fixed through firmware update, its up to nokia to do this or not. Because 5800 and N97 having identical hardware and N97 photo gallery scrolling is way smoother than 5800. Battery life wise, N97 battery life is good if not best. So far it could last me a few days for normal use. Which include calls, sms, wifi (minor usage). Standby could last 4-5 days if not using at all. N900 I am charging it once or twice per day. Battery capacity is lesser than N97. The bad thing is the battery life and standby could last me around 1-2 days I guess. Just got the phone for 1 week. Performance, I would say I am getting very very bored with Symbian. Compared to 6 years back when most of the phone out there are normal phone without any OS and having symbian is great, powerful, can multitask, go on msn through GPRS, installing software etc. But symbian/nokia is too comfortable with their lead in the industry and minor changes has been made in their OS. Not only that, windows OS is the same too after defeating PALM OS years back. Iphone and android is catching up and winmo/symbian doesn't seem to bother especially after the success of N95. Now iphone and android is dominating and nokia's revenue has dropped 30% recently if not mistaken. Now microsoft working on winmo7 and symbian with their ^3 and I am pretty sure they are going to have some hard time catching up. Now having N900 is like having a smartphone 5-6 years back. Same feeling of the powerfulnessssss lol. Simply just pwn the other smartphone out there. Besides most of the smartphone is a phone with smart OS features. While N900 is tablet with phone features. Mostly is internet tablet oriented, thats why u dont see MMS and other basic phone features This post has been edited by chicaman: Jul 25 2010, 08:54 PM |
