hi there guys. i'm new in water cooling. i decided to play abit with water cooling but didnt want to go the whole 9 yards with rads and all coz my casing too small to fit all of them.

just bought myself a ek-supreme hf nickel plexi, bits power barbs and some clear tubing i cant remember the brand.

this is the result.

before i had a cooler master v10 in the casing but it seems that it is losing its cooling efficiency in the past month. going to send it for warranty claims in a few days so i setup this rig to cool my pc down.

my rig is a amd 955be oced to 4ghz. vcore is 1.50v. and i am doing 24/7 folding. it seems the rig is holding it's water well.

it is called eveaporative technique. in a few days i will built a funnel to channel the air that is being blown from the fans outside the room. and yes i have to top up the water everyday. today already top up 3 liters.

Added on July 6, 2011, 10:44 pmwatercooling is an interesting way of getting heat form 1 place to another.

the idea is using water as a medium to carry heat away from a heat source and dissipating the heat into the atmostphere.

u can do 2 ways of heat dissipating. one is the one which most of you are familiar with which is the radiator and fan, the other is evaporative.

radiator and fan is the simplest to understand. pass the warm or hot water into a radiator and the heat will be adsorb by the radiator fins and the fan will blow air on the fins thus transferring the heat form the water into the air.

evaporative technique is almost similar only that we dont have a radiator. the water warm water is cooled by allowing it to evaporate by a) letting it cool off by itself in a tank or b) push air into the water as it falls from the exit pipe using a fan.

same effect of cooling using same principle of heat transfer only different technique.

aquarium pump. rated flow 1400l/h

the water block. the hot water is then sent out to

user posted image

this 1/2 inch pvc barb which is connected to

user posted image

this set of pvc pipes with holes drilled into them left and right. the fans are there not to only to push air into the path of the out going water but also to pull air. for that i will be putting another pair of fans later on.
