size of barb is 3/8 . tube is 3/8 ID 5/8 OD

nope, 3/8 tube cant fit with 1/2" barb...but i think 7/16 tube can fit 1/2" barb
*
erm... 3/8 tubing can fit 1/2 barb. I personally tried it. you need hot water to dip the tubings so the wall become soft, then insert them into the 1/2 barb. After it cooled down, it fits very tight. you need to cut the tubing off in case you want to remove it.

it will be a very tight fit. I using barbs for 1/2 tubings, so basically the grip for the tubing onto the barb is very strong. There are risk of leaking if the wall of the tubing cracked.

You can run without clamp if you are running 3/8 tubings over 1/2 barbs.

I using those D-tek fittings.

very good finding bro...this is how the real review should be done with proper tools etc, not just post some personal user review(more like personal opinion laugh.gif ). but however im still puzzled someone senior in the community that have 10 years of experience claim the F12 is same performance with the premium Scythe Gentle Typhoon but in real life proper testing the performance never touch the cooler master 90cfm led fan in terms of cooling laugh.gif

thx for sharing! or else we wouldnt know biggrin.gif

well... depends on rpm i guess... not really read through all the findings in the link. But personally, I think its personal preference, I tried R4, and F12 before, both lose to San Aces laugh.gif

But noise wise, f12 is better. Temp wise, they never been huge gap, 1-2c at most. Probably 0.xx c... Unless you put those San Aces on the rad, you will get to see differences in temp and noise.

To me, Scythe Typhoon also overrated fan. Just pick what ever fan you are comfortable with and which ones that suit your theme and budget. Unless you wanna crank best cooling possible from your radiator. For tht I recommend those 38mm thick San Aces or Panaflo with fan controller, they are the true performance fan. laugh.gif

yup, the right fans are important. as we waterhead uses the most fans, initial purchases for them need to be made base on well inform data to suit ur theme/budget/estimated performance etc. the perfomance gain between fans are ridiulous, so get it right the 1st time, and ill inform 1st purchases may result in u purchasing a new set of fans for your 2 x quad rad push+pull monster config sweat.gif

one thing i like bout the f12 is thats it dirt cheap....Rm20 bucks sweat.gif even cheper than the good ol'yate imho.

hehe san aces and panaflo ftw...the spes and reviews on these 38's are great ! with an added fc of course tongue.gif

Duno if u guys notice or not, the 38mm F12 Pro is the one comparable to Gentle Typhoon, not the 25mm F12. The thickness and none flat design of F12 Pro turns me down & that's why I chose GTs.

not to bias on the f12... but in my opinion, one of the cheapest FDB bearing fan. CM R4 are sleeve bearing and most rm30 fan. So its the king of rm30 in my opinion. Even though yate are better, but still they are sleeve bearings.

Just to share my experience, am still using the cm r4 fans, 4 of them to be exact for my 480 tfc xchanger rad in push mode and i'm damn well satisfied with it.
In no way are they bad at all.
Yeah, the 19dba is a bit far fetched for a 2000rpm fan but hey, they do a great if not excellent job cooling my loop at IMHO very decent noise. even my ceiling fan is louder than 4 of those r4 fans (please note that noise is subjective, hence the IMHO)
Temps are great even at high voltages so yeah, if anybody is contemplating on whether they should buy the r4 fans for water cooling, DEFINITELY! They're cheap (~RM25 per piece), silent (not 19dba but SILENT enough in my books) and they come in red, blue and green so it's easier to match with ur theme.

Go go CM R4 thumbup.gif
