lol. There must be a 'saturation' point somewhere where a higher spec doesn't make any difference to the average users. Like how on PCs there's no point getting an i7 + 8GB ram + latest GPU if the user is not going to do serious video editting / 3D rendering (i know it's sketchy coz on desktops ppl can choose the specs, just saying...).

Seriously unless anyone can enlighten me on the possibilities of dual-cores on smart phones, single core is good enough I guess. Ppl don't expect to be computing air flow models of F1 cars in these things, right?

Other than gaming (but what? ppl wanna play Crysis on these things? lol...), what's the purpose of chasing the CPU clockspeed on smartphones? The DHD and DZ looks to be scrolling smoothly, and rendering HD clips nicely. Looks to me it's alright now.

Sry if OOT. Should be relevant though coz if dual-core is the next big thing, DHD will be DOA...

i guess the Evo 4G looks better.. the Evo 4G pawns the desire HD in every except for QSD8255.. I guess ill settle for Desire HD and will only upgrade 2nd half of 2011 after my HTC Desire contract with maxis ends.. by that time, most likely there would be a Honeycomb android phone launched.. The DesireHD would survive and still be valid thanks to the permaroot.. gingerbread will be ported once its out..

the 1st half of 2011 would be the initial part of dual core devices.. by time 2nd half arrives, everything would be stable and hopefully everything would be optimized by that time and hopefully a new battery technology will emerge. Games will also improve to be optimized with the newer GPU and dual core CPUs. The Desire HD would survive the run i guess until Honeycomb is out.

I hope that HTC learned their lesson of playing catching up so late. They should also try to improve their hardware and learn something from samsung

actually the really down side of DHD for me is the battery and the SCREEN! =X

personally i like SAMOLED very much, maybe i do prefer a colourful screen although it has been said that 'over-saturated'.

for the processor clockspeed, with a higher clockspeed, higher graphic games and apps can be made and we users can use that either for candy-eyed or some other purposes.

when i bought my diamond, i thought 528Mhz is enough for me, then HD2 released, i still tell myself, ok, nothing's gonna changed, nobody will utilize the 1gb. in 2011, ok, i was wrong. =D

indeed.. sAMOLED pawns all.. who cares about over saturated anyway.. people want a better looking display..

you could be right..it may be a fake...may just get a DHD and not fret over things for the next 2 years.

sometimes i just couldnt control myself. =D try to imagine, you are using DHD, then your friend started to join in the android group and you introduce him the Nexus S (let say), seeing him with a 1.2Ghz(let say), and 4.5"sAMOLED(let say), a very great build with a nice camera and xenon flash(let say), and finally, because it's google's stuff, gingerbread or honeycomb or ice cream or jelly or Kxxxxxx or Lxxxxx or whatsoever, his phone has updates first than your DHD (let say again and ignore XDA first. LOL)

then for sure, my heart will be itchy, but i dont know how you guys will feel. LOL

what is released Q1 of 2011 is based on what they are building now.. what will be released in Q3/4 2011 is based on what they have learned in Early 2011 isnt it? And the next iPhone will be launched in June so most likely if 1st half 2011 android is not on par or ahead of next iphone, what is in the 2nd half would be better...

but prepared yourself of what will appear in late end of 2011 just a year from now.. the cycle would go on and on.. LOL.. but im having fun with all this btw.. haha.. just a minor entertainment of playing with gadgets eventhough it gives more frustation feeling.. LOL

personally speaking faster processor,more RAM better software bigger screen im ok with. but personally i dont give a hoot about camera installed on phones. like the nokia n8 12mp cam...i mean seriously the picture from phones just plain suck from even the best phones....just saying

of coz~ i always snap my pics with my slr. LOL, but, i hate to bring this bulky lil thing out and with a better cam in my phone, somehow i can snap it especially those moments which dont stay for a period.

@pluginbabe, i found myself enjoying flashing all those custom ROM on my phone! LOL, even using 2 or 3 hours configure it is ok for me. but after a day, found out it doesnt realy suit me, then i'll flash it again~~

so, i bought milestone for my dad. it's sad that the boatloader is locked. flashing a kernel image only to it is funless. that's why not many developers are working on it except like GOT, dexter and bla. it is so pathetic that people need to brute force to get the code.

but, finally, q1 2011 will be getting the froyo for milestone.

so, HTC or any other 'free-flashable' device will my choices always!

erm, if judged from the videos in the internet, wm7 will be a very good out of the box phone. without customization, i think it will be good too.

android, it is fun when you can do a lot of configuration to the whole thing in it.

so, choose what you want. =D

i think the strategic reason is because of christmas. maybe they expect this to be like christmas present gift, so maybe many people will buy for beloved ones. lolz

nothing impressive compare to 5MP from SGS/iphone 4
video recording can let u focus on the object just like camera..

last time i was damn tempted to get the desire HD.. but as the delay gets longer, my Streak has become better and better, i see no point spending lots of money at the end of the year like now..

somemore.. who knows, if nexus S is not just a rumor ..
