QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Sep 19 2010, 12:34 PM) this dude is claiming that htc malaysia will launch it early of october I read somewhere earlier this morning saying that they might be bringing forward the launch date in the UK to the 6th Oct. Sorry cant remember where I saw it or if the facts are confirmed though. Just tot it sort of reinforce ur link above. http://mytechnews.info/b/2010/09/htc-unvei...d-desire-z.html he is quite trust able i guess since his leaks happens to be quite true and he got cables around the local market.. it wont be long i guess.. maybe RRP2600 for Desire HD. Wont be any higher than that i guess.. In my own usage the front cam I have never used before, and honestly have never seen anybody used it for video call before also. The lack of it in the DHD doesnt affect me at all - still getting it |

well ask yourself: if the DHD turns out to be only SLED will you still buy it?
Personally i rather be having a screen that works best under the sun. I cant even remember how many time i was under the sun and cant read my phone. Take the iphone 4 for example, IPS LCD that most ppl use for colour accuracy... I do not remotely know why I would do photo editing (where colour accuracy is the most crucial requirement) on an iphone. |

QUOTE(daijoubu @ Sep 21 2010, 01:27 AM) Super Amoled -> SLCD not much of a drop I read some review of SLCD vs. AMOLED vs. SAMOLED. Just seems like u win some and lose some with one another. My preference would be for battery life and under bright light use - but thats just my preference Of course you'll loose the color vibrancy/contrast, but you gain in color accuracy You'll loose in side angle view, but gain in vertical And depends, if you watch movie alot you might loose in battery life, but if you surf sites alot, you'll gain battery life Oh and you'll gain in sharpness, since the SLCD doesnt use the pentile matrix layout edit: if its TFT, then that of course is a different story. so cross your fingers the DHD has SLCD! |

hmmmm TFT screen on a phone so many websites I have visited are calling a flagship phone... would be a real waste and down right embarrassment.

does it seem odd that there is so much confusion on the screen even until now.. especially the official htc video. i didnt manage to see the original vid, but assuming it went from saying it is a SLCD to just high-res could they be hiding something about the 1st batch? they are already 3weeks to their first pre-order shipping which means they would have manufactured at least all the 1st day sales units already. I have a feeling they might actually change the screen type in a future date?

one thing u have to remember for iphone is that there is absolutely no background programs running...which is probably the main contributing reason to it's battery life. If battery life is really the main target then i have to suggest those RM100+ mono-chrome nokia phones...last prob like 1 month on 1 charge hahahah

QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Oct 3 2010, 08:14 PM) As always we are in bolehland. It would be foolish of SiS to bring the phone in 2 months late. Between the Desire and DHD i think it was only like what? 6-ish months in between? Desire launch on Feb, available in March, DHD launch in Sept available Oct. If i get my phone so late something newer will prob make me wait for the next 1 liau hahah We will always be the last to receive latest technology. Probably the AP company will cash in by bringing the phone here early. By the official available date of DHD in uk if there is no official available date in msia i will look to buy AP set liau. Y wait to pay more to get the same thing later leh? |

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Oct 5 2010, 05:07 PM) The HTC Desire was the previous flagship. The Desire Z and the HD is the new flagship but the HD is in its own class since its 4.3 inch. My guess the RRP would be 2499 i guess.. For Desire Z, it might be 2299 since the pricing is damn close to HTC Desire. The Desire Z pricing will eventually go lower to 2199 but that is when htc Desire itself reduced ori set pricing to 1900 maybe.. for all you know later just to kick iphone from the number 1 spot they price it dirt cheap?? yeah wishful thinking but i am still allow to by law |

wah rm2900??!! too high dude. UK selling only GBP 470 = rm2350 (that also i assume 1GBP = RM 5 and we will pay the 17.5% tax). i think u overshot la.
But if the phone is >RM2500 i will not bother to look back and just give the DHD a pass. RM2400 also i will give it a long hard look.otherwise i just beli from UK la... claim the 17.5% tax refund only pay GBP 390 ie <rm2000 Edit: Amazon UK during HD2 pre-order HTC HD2 Preorder on Amazon UK The list price was GBP550 then, though it has dropped to GBP 370 now. QUOTE(ccgenius @ Oct 8 2010, 01:46 AM) ya.. i tried the web after my dinner just now, it is accessible. probably we will not need to wait for too long for the DHD screen protector...the shape and screen size looks the same as the Evo 4G to me. there are probably somebody out there already producing it long agoAdded on October 8, 2010, 1:48 amonce this phone is out, wonder whether we can use the hd2 screen protector on dhd while waiting for the dhd screen protector to be available |

google news is reporting that both the desire hd and z have failed google type approvals... ie delays in delivery to uk customers. lets hope this does not delay msia's launch too
