QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 16 2010, 05:21 PM) should i should i?? :/ since the froyo in SGS doesn't improve the performance,im thinking to jump ship performance is rated individually.. scoring a stock high quadrant such as 1900 for DHD does not mean that its super fast.. based on paper, SGS is the best and has the latest technology.. the SGS was fine i guess.. ive been using my dads sgs to browse and surf.. its quite fine as i applied lagfix on it.. upgrading to DHD would only worthit if u plan to get a bigger screen and have a reliabe GPS connection.. apart from that, its very personal to say and differ to one another bout performance

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 16 2010, 10:33 PM) ya,im using froyo and no,the performance still the same, laggy maybe the SGS was already snappy.. snapdragon and MSM based is the one who got the advantage of froyo since it has NEON enabled... Hummingbird does not need NEON and JIT to make it fast maybe.. perhaps it has its own optimization just like TI OMAPs... SGS just need some extra software fixes and the GPS thingy.. no wonder even DHD is not using the latest broadcomm bluetooth 3.0/wifi/gps chip as perhaps its not yet stable.. only SGS is using that new chip.. all other phones is still using the older one which is on bluetooth 2.1

QUOTE(bossnass15 @ Oct 16 2010, 11:38 PM) The WVGA (800 x 480-pixel) 4.3-inch screen is one of the largest you can get for any mobile phone. Like the latest batch of HTC Desire devices, this utilizes Sony's Super LCD (SLCD) rather than Samsung's AMOLED technology.

1. SLCD or NO SLCD is not a big fuss anymore.. people who is buying will buy.. just go with the flow or wait for one more year since 4.3 is only released once a year by htc..
2. Batterylife is common.. 15hours was great already, i drain my batt to 30 usually in just 12hours when im using htc desire.. DHD has a bigger screen and a lower mAh so sure its gonna drain faster..

It's still mind boggling why DHD only squeezed in a 1230mAh batt when the desire can fit in 1500mAh

I have seen 3rd party batteries that was even rated for double the capacities of the original ones (not DHD or Desire batteries). basically speaking Li-ion batteries have not really evolved at the rate computer chips, so even if you do see some 3rd party batteries rated higher then the originals - buy it with lots of doubt. Besides - what is really stopping the 3rd party manufacturer from claiming that his battery is 10000000mhA when it only holds 1000mhA? If they managed such technological breakthrough they will be winning the nobel prize.

Performance rating differs from person to person.. and i guess the SGS already have tons of Eclair based firmware which is running better compared to the one shipped so perhaps some of it has already close to be on par with the Froyo based. I believe that hihihehe has his own judgement and i accept every of his comments on the SGS since i see him as a hardcore SGS user. The issue of performance and benchmarking is really a big debate as benchmark dosent prove how snappy it is. Try minimizing the benchmark app and do some other stuff in terms of daily usage such as browsing and multitasking, does the previous benchmark shows that everything would be smooth? I guess not everytime..

QUOTE(koinibler @ Oct 17 2010, 10:38 AM) so, does the mugen battery not good i'm thinking to get one for my current wildfire! its only shipping cost that set me back. so far, i hear that Seido and Mugen was rated the highest as a 3rd party supplier in terms of their battery efficiency.. Try to browse through XDA over HTC Evo 4G and Droid Incredible, they recommends Seido and Mugen. The risk of having a lower efficiency happens to other battery suppliers i guess. Mugen and Seido is the one which is reliable based on source. They are also reviewed on Engadget a long while ago.

QUOTE(hxcpride @ Oct 17 2010, 10:51 AM) when is DHD coming out in malaysia? november? reckon how much the price will be? the phone has already reach the hands of some users in Europe.. this shows that the shipping may has started already and the device passed the Google testing phase and obtained approval already.. some say it will be available early to mid of november in Malaysia (hopefully)... estimated price of 2399 maybe.. given the record of HTC android devices for this year, maybe it would be around that price range or slightly lower

Just wanna see how the official Froyo will perform. Tested 2 unofficial Froyo roms and disappointed, do not find any major improvements. The lag and slow launch of programs is still there, only marginal improvements
