A definite on my next buy/upgrade list. Oh I really love the bigger screen 4.3 " juz like my present HD2

The last 2 weeks was fantastic and I would said most roms are close to perfect on the hd2.

Till now without any official notice from htc, one can safely assumed the screen will not be the best amoled or samoled or slcd. Simply if this is so, as a great marketing strategy htc would have highlighted this. They being mum on this, we can deduce it will be just At worst TFT wvga.

Anyway, personally I don't mind as the creen display is not such an important issue. However up graders will be dissapointed

Maybe he should get a HTC HD2 and test all the Android versions - will sure keep him interested

The estimate price retail RM2500 is plausible, looking at HTC pricing release of the last few Android smartphones. You can get one direct from UK unlock for GBP399 about RM2k. HTC pricing cannot be too high as the new iPhone4 is retailing at RM2.2 to 2.7k, so a RM2.5k price is right and competitive

While awaiting it, I have been playing with the HTC Desire HD rom on my HD2 last few days, would say is close to perfect, except only HTC Likes and HTCSense.com not available yet

Of course, get the newer and better one : Desire HD . The price I believe wont be much higher than the Desire, maybe RM200 to RM300 more

Malaysia only very small market - seriously how many people use smartphones in this country ?? The ratio in Singapore ( small country ) I read is 5/10 uses smartphones, while Malaysia is not even 0.5/10 !!!! It is simply a matter of business and economics. The telcos swill only bring in at the proper time when their commitment and stocks of present model runs out

WOW !! Good pricing. I will get mine at Spore then, nearer for me. Unlikely we can get such retail prices here unless buy with contracted line

Added on October 7, 2010, 12:08 pmI have attended such HTC launches in Spore before. Unless you happen to be there, it is not worth your time and effort. Usually lasts only half hour plus, only advantage you get chance to test. The last one I attended was the htc Desire launch, on site were about 20 units for you to test

Cheap and lousy qones costs RM 15 to Rm 20 ( plenty in ebay) and is a waste of your money. Go for the better ones example iFinger - about RM 100 ; other popular ones are Dagi and Pogo , price also around RM 80 to RM 100. I have tried most from cheap to high end, I'd recommend iFinger. But these stylus can never replace the finger touch which is excellent , just practice and you will master using your finger. These stylus options are good for those in colder countries where wearing gloves is common and is more convenient to use stylus then

This is just opportunity for them to make money. As long as buyer is willing to pay seller is most happy he can make extra profit

Main reason most people want the best display especially on the highest end device.

Personally is not an important issue for me - I also have a Samsung Galaxy S - the screen is indeed beautiful but if you do not compare it , you will not even notice it in another Amoled or LCD phone. Infact I find the Galaxy S colours too bright and vibrant , and I still prefer my previous Nexus display

Why not ? So far Maxis has been selling it with no contract for the Desire, Galaxy S and iPhone 4. So no reason why it should be different this time

I think we will see same sales strategy from maxis. Sell the phones with contract first, without contracts a month or more later. If I am maxis marketing director I will do so. Unlike iPhone 4 , it was simultaneously being sold and is unlikely for the dhd.
the iPhone4 scenario is different due to demand . People are just crazy over it and maxis will use the opportunity to make quick bucks out of it.
the desire hd will not and do not command sales as the iPhone4
magnetic pull. So maxis priority will be contract sales first. Just my 2 sens on marketing strategy.

I have also a old iphone 3GS and ipad and till today I still dont understand why people or applefanboys so called are so crazy over it. Apple products are not bad but I wont say it is the greatest. Their products has strengths and similarly weakness. But somehow Steve Jobs ( they called him Apple's God ) had mesmerized and " hynoptize " his followers to the extent they cannot accept anything but Apple. Luckily I am invulnerable to him and at least stay objective and have a mind of my own deciding what is good for me
