Im sure we can make room for Alonso who knows aye with the imminent Masch sale to Inter or Barca we could make a cheeky bid to Real? ah its nice to fantasize but

Alonso back to Liverpool will be absurd...though I'd really love it if by chance he's back, sadly he wont, and Madrid surely wont be releasing him , he's vital to how Madrid plays, plus he's Spanish...

definitely will interesting how Madrid are gonna play all these midfielders..its overloaded..Ozil, Khedira, Kaka, Alonso, Lass, VDV, Ronaldo Canales ,Granero...gosh the talent..surely Madrid has to get something by the end of this season...sorry to divert to Madrid but im utterly gobsmacked

our midfield - babel, kuyt, gerrard, poulsen, masherano, aquilani, maxi, jovanovic, cole, lucas omg damn alot. 10 =.=

By the Jova and Kuyt are strikers mind you..they converted to midfielders..given the chance im sure both will do a decent job at forward..and Mascherano does look to be on his way out

Ngog goal is good, strong and accurate. But, his ball control and dribling skill is very poor. Especially long ball passing, he just can't control and take the ball well. Kyut did have a good game, he looks very good now. You see how he exchange passes with Johson.

I'll be happy to see Roy Hodgson giving Aquilani another chance and let Gerrard plays on that position behind the striker. He played well on a deeper role yesterday but only that shadow striker role would bring the best out of him. Maybe that means Joe Cole has to play on the flanks.... but Kuyt, Jovanovic, Babel, Maxi etc... Hmm.. I'm sure Roy Hodgson will find the best solution.

Regarding Real Madrid, it's exactly like my FM 2010's real madrid team!! Kaka, Ozil and Canales on that attacking midfielder role, don't forget abt Van Der Vaart too! Like what others said above, Real Madrid are full of midfielders as well. Lots to do for Jose!

infact this is a good result for us

but the most important improvement tat i see is the defensive nature of RH instructions

our defence now is much better now compared to when RB was the manager thumbup.gif

ditto. bt not agger on the left, this leaves our left flank threatless.

I think if Agger was given permission to go forward, we would be very dangerous on the left especially given how dangerous Agger's long shots are.Too bad, he hasn't had the pace.Would be a good short term replacement instead of a long term one. smile.gif

He is still young, isn't he? Plus, not everyone is a Torres, Drogba or Rooney.

I did watch the match and I found that he did okay. After all, strikers normally flourishes nearing the age of 30. And it was a good shot. Actually, after Cole has been sent off, he played better. Maybe it was just me. Just an opinion. Oh and you guys were unlucky with Reina's own goal. Even if it was 10 vs 11, Liverpool surely took charge and looked wanted to win the match more than Arsenal did.

Drop who? Jova and Kuyt?

Im sorry i but i would appreciate it and would like to know more if you could explain on the midfield passion? just say by the faintest of chances (though as i mentioned earlier its absurd) how does bringing Alonso back kills midfield passion?

we only got 5 slots of midfields out of 11 as if include alonso. alonso and gerrard would be on 1st 11 no matter wad. so i wonder how would RH manage the lads by not demotivating them of bench warming. smile.gif

gerrard, alonso and masch in the middle has provided us with some of our best football in the past, hence the name "best midfield in the world".

a good team has got to have at least 2 good players in every position. hence we need at least 6 in midfield

kuyt and jovanovic are supposedly strikers.

the more players we have, the more options we have and more formations we can play. players get injured, off form etc

You mean we HAD..lol..2 of them have left..1 more likely to go too..

But anyway, if Masch does stay, we still have a good midfield because of Cole's addition..and Jova looks pretty good too on the left wing..Kuyt is as always determined and hardworking on the right side..doesn't matter they were natural strikers or not..if they can adapt well to their roles on the wing, it's pretty much gonna help the team anyway..

I believe the only positions that needs more depth is our fullbacks. On the right, we have Johnson, and Darby? I've not seen him play, hence not too sure if he's ready to step up when Johnson is not available.

On the left, we have Aurelio and Insua. The former is injury prone and the latter might still be leaving.

Strikers, we have enough backup for Torres. We have Ngog, Kuyt, Milan, Maxi, Babel who can all play in that position.

Midfield wise, we have very good options to pick from as mentioned previously by you guys and we also have 4 very competent centre back.

Really look forward to this season. It's good that Roy has actually lowered the expectation for the team as there will be less pressure on the player from the media.
