ngog shot is great. Maybe all of us think that he is not a good striker since last 2 years so we tend to say that is unlucky goal although he really intend to shot it like that.

I disagree that N'Gog's goal was lucky. He clearly intended to place it on the top corner because it was the only way he was going to score. Was it Almunia's error? Hmmm a little harsh to penalise him I say. Firstly, the ball was hit with such venom, few keepers would have got their hands up in time. Secondly, he had to cover his far post as well in the event N'Gog chose to pass it across goal.

Reds agree Jones fee

Liverpool have confirmed a £2.3m fee has been agreed with Middlesbrough for the transfer of Australian international goalkeeper Brad Jones.

The point I'm trying to make is Almunia is partly responsible for that goal. And I as well agree that N'gog has the same class of finish as Torres.  shakehead.gif
That is a great instinctive shot, but a keeper should have done better to block it.

a keeper may save the shot from Ngog..but the key word here is..not all keepers brows.gif

Lucky or not, doesn't matter, the striker role is to score goal, if the strikers deliver your plenty of "lucky" goal, he is a good striker. You need to be there (the position) to score "lucky" goal as well.

Any goal is savable by GK. Striker is shot beyond GK and strike the ball on target. The goal is not the like a weak shot, with GK fumbled the ball, or due to hand slip. The lucky goal should be the Arsenal goal. It is pure luck, Reina fumbled the ball cross in, hit the cross bar, then bounce back infront of GK, then hit his finger tip or slipping, bounced into the net.
This is what we call lucky goal.

For Ngog's goal, it was a good goal and striker instinct goal and a rocket shot.

Sometimes, credit needs to be given credit due.

update on agger...

http://community.livejournal.com/danielagger/41859.html

Here's what it says -

I've been to the Supporters' Club meeting at Anfield tonight, and the guest speaker was Peter Brukner, who is the doctor at the club now (ok, Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Science to give him his correct title!) and he mentioned Danny's condition so I thought I'd give you an update.

He said Danny was suffering from concussion and has very little recollection of the game on Sunday. When they asked him what day it was after the match he had no idea, he said. He went into Melwood on Monday for assessment and they've taken him off training for a couple of days and then they'll reassess him and then ease him back into full training slowly. He did say as well that Danny would be unlikely to feature in the match on Thursday but should make a full recovery ready for next Monday's game against City. He also said that some of the other lads were joking with Danny about the game because he couldn't remember any of it, and they were telling him he'd played brilliantly and scored lots of goals.

Seems like Diego Cavalieri's time in Anfield is short...Brad Jones is gonna be our no.2?

First match, already bad luck! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Will this be a continuum of last season performance of many draws and unable to score goals against minnows?

Brad Jones is a decent keeper. Just 2 seasons ago, he and Ross Turnbull were both given even playing time by Middlesbrough. The latter has since signed for Chelsea and it's about time someone recognised Jones' ability.
