don't get you mate, RH doesn't need to sacrifice kyrgiakos to open up a slot for wilson since he's under 21.

Correct me if I am wrong. As far as the new ruling in BPL concerned. only 25 players are eligible to play in BPL. doesn't matter under 21 or not if its not register in the list of 25 .. they will not be getting any playing in the BPL itself.

That's why i mention that Soto might be taken out of the list of 25 to give way for Wilson to get more playing time in BPL.

still slightly blurry about the new 25 fellas ruling . rclxub.gif

you're slightly wrong, you're confusing with UEFA registration rules for CL/EL.

PL Registration>25 players list. at least 8 homegrown (HG) players. HG mean, registered /trained in England or Wales for at least 3 years before they reached 22 y.o. regardless their citizenship. i.e Fabregas is HG, Hargreaves isnt HG.

under 21 y.o players, unlimited numbers can be register. regardless their citizenship.

UEFA registration> 25 players list aka A List must include 4 HG + 4 players eligible for national teams (can play for England). HG definition in PL and UEFA are slightly different (in term of date and UEFA didnt include Wales)

under 21 players aka B list, are similar to PL.

these 2 set of registration almost similar but technically not exact copy.

Always like Benny since he terrorized us back in 06 FA cup final. Problem is maybe he didn't have the trust of gaffer. For him to go in & out of the team, might as well go in and out in a team with better chance to win silverware not to mention better pay

Hargreaves an English wor, the purpose of HG rules is to get in more English players, so doesn't he count as HG since he's English hmm.gif

he's english but not homegrown tongue.gif

taken from FIFA: The definition of home grown is trained for three years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English and Welsh professional system

Eh, thought this supposed to be English FA criteria? Even though he's English but doesn't he sonsidered 'local' player as opposed to foreign player? hmm.gif
So it means every country also faced the same criteria? if so Inter Milan would be so dead whistling.gif

Added on August 13, 2010, 10:40 amBarcelona Agree Deal With Liverpool For Javier Mascherano - Report
The Argentine midfielder is one step closer to joining the Blaugrana...

Spanish giants Barcelona are set to land Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano, after striking a deal with the Reds, according to reports.

The deal will be comprised of a player-plus-cash offer, with the Anfield outfit set to receive midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb and approximately €15 million for the Argentina captain, according to Ole.

The report also claims that the player's agent has already met with Barcelona officials, and confirmation of the deal could come in the next few days.

Mascherano had recently expressed his desire to leave the Reds and join the Spanish side, or reunite with former coach Rafael Benitez at European champions Inter.

The Blaugrana were seeking another midfielder, after Yaya Toure departed the Camp Nou for Manchester City during the summer.

Since no one provided an answer to my question, can I safely concluded that no one has actually seen Poulsen play? Ah perhaps someone from the Juve thread can enlighten us so we know if we should get excited or not.

I like Masch but not as much for his ability as a footballer than for his commitment and passion. He is the type of player that inspires you to play harder and I can see why Maradona gave him Argentina's armband. You don't have to be the most talented player in the team to inspire your squad and this is one of the hallmarks of a great leader, that your mere presence gives your teammates a sense of assurance that everything's going to be alright. As a fan, his name is one of the first I look our for when the starting lineups are shown on the screen. As a player, you know that if you get caught out of position, you'll see Masch run the full width (or even length!) of the pitch because as they say, "he's got your back". He possesses the tenacity that many players don't these days. He reminds me a lot of Edgar Davids actually, minus the goggles. I still find it a little insulting that he has been accused by rival fans of being dirty. I disagree. He is enthusiastic, sometimes a little over-enthusiastic but he doesn't set out to injure players. He has injured himself on countless occasions by going into 50-50 challenges at full speed so you cannot say he is dirty because if he were, he wouldn't take the risk of getting himself hurt.

As I type this, images of him dashing from the corner of the TV screen, into the main frame where the ball often is, come to mind. I will miss seeing him scampering across the field, protecting the back four like it was his castle being seiged by invaders. It looks a certainty that he'll leave so I will bid him a premature farewell. May you piss off many more opponents to come with your burning desire to make their lives a living hell on the pitch, and may you one day return to Anfield as a friend of the club, even if you are flying an enemies flag. YNWA.

aye, he's a great legend in making. i am always a fan of argentina players over brazilian (oopss lucas.
lucas is probably the most unbrazilian player by their fans standard.)

If he goes to barca, good luck to him. we probably wont cross swords against his new team in the near future. but we must get back to CL. its is very important for liverpool.

this season, amongst the leading pack. arsenal & red devils appears to the 2 leading teams showing good form & with some new reinforcement to ManUtd, its going to really tough for any team to be in their way.

someone needs to vex them then tongue.gif

Can someone enlighten me why the hell are we taking Aliaksandr Hleb? He is a total failure.Even during his "prime" time at arsenal, that wasn't really much success. Sigh.

we are in the position where spurs was years ago. no additional big, good signings for squad depth.
we have to make do for know. we have alrady accepted the cowboys cheated us, just wait for the storm to pass. it might that a while longer.

LFc its not to a situation where is gun in pointed on its head, we almost would do a leeds/newcastle if the cowboys continue to drag us down.

hmph, i've never seen poulsen play, all i know he's a hard tackling defensive midfielder. have we sign brad jones ? or its just rumour still ? btw, mascherano might just move to inter if the balotelli transfer is finalised. we should be able to get 25mil from inter or 15 plus hleb from barca. hleb is not worth 10mil imo, but i wouldnt mind if he comes, because i think he's more than decent only worry is that he's injury prone just like cole.

I hope Hleb doesn't need to come as we have enough players that can play in the midfield/winger department already!

Aquilani, Joe Cole, Gerrard, Maxi Rodriguez, Kuyt, Lucas, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Babel...not to mention reserve players like Pacheco, Shelvey, El zhar.

The most we could have done is to get another fullback or striker...so in a way i rather have Mascherano follow Rafa to Inter with $$$. tongue.gif

Ok guys, being a Juve fan as well as as a Pool fan (Juve still my primary club though, no offence tongue.gif ). Here's my opinion about Poulsen.

He's a hardworking, no nonsense type of DM. If there's scraps need to be cleaned up, he'll clean it up without complaining. If you need him to be a full back/center back, he'll fill up that position without making much noise. He is pretty defensively versatile. Sometimes he could get into fights/incidents due to his aggressiveness sweat.gif .

He does his job well, but not flashy. Don't expect him to make dazzling dribbles or score goals or those defence splitting Pirlo-like passes.

However, between him and Masch, I'll still pick Masch.

what makes you to say hleb is a failure? because he is an arsenal player? or do you have better points to convince he is a failure?
