i think H&G are looking for an offer which includes some profit from the total amount of loan interest an other expenses related to the club that they've paying so far.. so they not only bought the club without paying any cents but also gain some profits from the sale.. and left with a smile...

if Mellor hav stayed, he would be Gerrard II, tats my personal opinion

my only guess why Rafa kept Pacheco "under wraps" was tat he wanted to sell Pacheco back to Barca for a huge profit later to please his Boss, , like wat he done to Alonso, BUT luckily Pacheco impressed during the U19 and RH gave him a chance for us to see HOW DAMN GOOD HE WAS THIS MORNING thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Not a well known team but they are the 4th most successful club in turkey in terms of being turkish league champs. Finished 5th in their league last season. Definitely much tougher opposition compared to rabotnicki. But by then the full squad should be able to play already. So I have very little doubts about L'pool going through. biggrin.gif

Philipp Degen moves to Stuttgart on loan after A miserable two years at Liverpool

Liverpool right-back Philipp Degen has joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan after playing just seven games in two seasons at Anfield.

The 27-year-old moved to Liverpool on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2008.

But Stuttgart have confirmed the Switzerland international has now joined the Bundesliga outfit which will see him reunited with Christian Gross, who Degen played under at Basel.

Degen, who has 31 caps for the Swiss, believes he had no alternative but to seek a loan move and hopes it will kick start jis career.

He said: 'For me this loan represents a great chance to rediscover my best form.'

i think his career in anfield is coming to an end, but i wonder why they opt to loan him rather than sell him to get some cash

Added on August 6, 2010, 10:05 pmChristian Poulsen's agent has revealed he expects the Denmark international to complete his move to Liverpool next week.

The Reds are thought to have targeted a move for Juventus midfielder Poulsen as a direct replacement for wantaway star Javier Mascherano.

Juve are believed to be willing to offload Poulsen as he does not figure in new coach Luigi Del Neri's long-term plans.

Anfield boss Roy Hodgson is a big admirer of Poulsen and confirmed his interest in the defensive midfielder earlier this week.

a loan is sensible. he wants to make his move like Voronin. Only that Voronin failed to capitalize on his return.

We need a Joey Cole song!!!

Joey said goodbye to Chelsea's plastic flags,
Packed his bags, came down the Anfield road,
We were here to welcome him with open arms,
Now he's red and he will score a bucket load!

Joey Cole, Joey Cole, Joey Co-ole,
Joey plays for Liverpool!
Joey Cole, Joey Cole, Joey Co-ole,
Joey plays for Liverpool!

Kenny Huang confirms he has bid to buy Liverpool

Hong Kong businessman Kenny Huang has confirmed he has bid to buy Liverpool but has refused to comment on reports that China's government is involved.

It has been suggested that Huang is being backed by the state-funded China Investment Corporation (CIC).

But a source close to CIC told BBC Sport a link with Huang's QSL Sports Ltd would be "highly unlikely".

Huang's bid is one of at least three for the Premier League club, with all of them coming from foreign investors.

On Wednesday, Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi said his consortium was in the "final stage of negotiation".

Current owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks put the club on the market in April, with Liverpool's main creditor the Royal Bank of Scotland owed about £237m.

Martin Broughton was brought in as chairman to oversee the sale process and along with investment bank Barclays Capital, will elect a preferred bidder by the end of next week.

Former New York stock broker Huang admitted his interest on Wednesday and is thought to value the club at about £325m.

Reports on Thursday had suggested Huang's interest in Liverpool is backed by CIC, an investment arm of the Chinese Government, which also owns a stake in Canary Wharf.

Kirdi's group of Canadian and Middle East investors claims it has agreed terms with Gillett and Hicks and is negotiating a purchase agreement with the Americans.

Kirdi, who is now a Canadian resident, said: "Agreement has been reached on all major terms including the purchase price, repayment of the existing bank debt and financing of a new stadium in Liverpool's Stanley Park.

"A formal purchase agreement between the parties is in the final stage of negotiation."

Kirdi promised that if the consortium was successful in its bid, money would be made available to Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson.

He added: "With additional money to improve the squad and financing in place to build the new stadium, LFC will be on a solid foundation to compete in the Premiership and in Europe for years to come."

Meanwhile, Hodgson has distanced himself from the off-field matters saying: "I don't get involved, I leave it to the people who know what they are doing."

Hodgson's team sealed a 4-0 aggregate win over Macedonia's Rabotnicki at Anfield on Thursday in the Europa League third qualifying round.

Liverpool Starlet Dani Pacheco Wants To Stay At Anfield

Dani Pacheco has said he does not want to leave Liverpool, ending speculation surrounding a possible exit for the youngster.

Up to seven clubs across Europe had been linked with Pacheco after he impressed during the U-19 European Championship earlier in the summer.

He arrived at Liverpool in 2008 and has struggled for first team opportunities since he came to Anfield, but he played the full 90 minutes as Roy Hodgson's side beat FK Rabotnicki 2-0 in the Europa League qualifying this week.

Pacheco told Click Liverpool that he is hoping to sit down with Hodgson and discuss his future, but he does want to continue his footballing education at Anfield.

"I really want to be here," said the forward.

"I will talk with the manager in a few days and we will decide my future. Hopefully I will stay and be able to get some games so we will see.

"I will try to work, get as many chances as I can and take them when they happen."

Following the two-legged win over FK Rabotnicki, Liverpool have been drawn to take on Turkish cup winners Trabzonspor in the Europa League play-off round.

The six-times Turkish champions could pose a tough challenge for Hodgson's men as they look to make it into the group phase of the competition.

ARSENAL have launched a stunning £23million raid for Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina.

Arsene Wenger sees the Kop star as the man to solve his problem position.
And the Gunners boss is prepared to go up to £25m to land the Spaniard.
But Wenger knows he faces a massive battle to lure one of Liverpool's prize assets away from Anfield. He had been eyeing Fulham's Mark Schwarzer but the chance of getting Reina, 27, is far more mouth-watering.
Reina, a £6million buy from Villarreal five years ago, signed a new six-year deal at Liverpool in April.
He missed Thursday's Europa League win over Rabotnicki after only returning to training on Monday - together with the rest of the club's Spanish and Dutch World Cup stars.
Wenger is desperate to sign a top keeper after both Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski copped a stream of criticism for a series of clangers over the past 12 months.
But Liverpool insist they do not want - or need - to sell any of their big stars.
And the prospect of new ownership bringing a huge cash injection to Anfield leaves Wenger with a major fight on his hands.
