IMO Kentang u need do lot of research.. I think u point of view based on Marketing / Salesman talk.. U need lot of fact b4 start say anything..

QUOTE(kentang_peranchis @ Sep 1 2010, 08:05 AM)
ur thinking is quite limited to say dat while android use different approach like open concept, cloud computing, but only geeks/nerds wld be interested.
But why apple also do interested in cloud computing??
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing <-- simple search about cloud computing
http://www.apple.com/mobileme/ <-- this is one kind of cloud computing
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/apple/cloud-comp...-microsoft/2730 <-- more

I oppose ur statement that only geek/nerd interested to open concept. Tell me who would like if the market is been dominate by only ONE party??

I hope u will read lot of tech related site instead of APPLE brochure b4 BS anything to us. Coz we are not stupid either. Maybe for u its ok when u do sales pitch to "NORMAL" ppl. And I dun want to talk about "VISION" or any other part of ur point either coz it was pointless argument.

u say dat iphone is evolution rather than revolution requires more thought on ur part . i remember dat i was selling palms (pilot up to tungsten 3 and treos) and winmobs like htc tytn2. only after iphone came into de picture dat there was a market for the normal ppl instead of juz for de nerds/geeks.
*
Correction - I said iPhone was an revolution in its first generation and I did not deny. But the subsequent ones are evolution to improve on the first gen iPhone. It's normal, you can't have revolution in every phone, once things get stabilized, you only want to improve it.

And I refuse to reply the rest of your comments because, based on the keywords (Android for nerds only while iPhone for normal people, Android will die in few years, Steve Jobs vision is the best and Google's one is blunt), those are the same weak arguments you've been repeating and it's not worth spending my time for

But I have to quote this:

In case you didn't notice, he change his avatar recently to a mosaic image of Steve Jobs. Seriously he should join Apple as I really believe he will make a very good marketeer for them. If I were to open a shop selling Apple stuffs I will first recruit him , after all in any biz what count is the bottom line

i got 10 sets of overpriced iPhone 4..

Kentang help me push finish can??

LOL!

Speaking from my personal view in this forum, i have offloaded more Android devices rather than iPhone actually.

But people do inquire more bout the iPhone compared to the Android.

Lolz.

why should people care which one is the best, both has its pros and cons, and its up to consumers to decide.. im happy to have more choices, and its good to see iphone getting better as well.. and that is also because of the competition in the market, the emergence of android gave apple the push they needed.. so at the end of the day, we, the consumers are the winners..
*
RIGHT ON the head !!! I always want choice - the more the better. Now we have the iphone, Windows, Symbian, Android, Blackberry etc - each platform meets different needs. Each has its pro and cons. And is downright unpleasant to impose one's opinion on others, worse of all degrade other non-Apple users, insult non-Apple users. The money belong to me , NO ONE has the right to tell me which is the best and what to buy. I buy what meet my needs. I will listen to all opinions and I do not accept the thinking that only one platform is the best

You can see from my signature, I owe a variety of gadgets. I do not go round praising or condemning any either. Each of it meets my different needs.

On desktop - my main is the MAC but that does not mean Windows is not good enough. I still use Windows for several tasks the MAC is poor in. Oh How I wish I can just have a one perfect PC with the best of both MAC and Windows. Similarly to smartphones, for me there is now no one perfect or best smartphone which meet all my needs. For any smartphone, one can list out a "have-nots" of a competitor and similarly a competing platform can list out their "have-nots" of the contender. The benefit of it is , we consumers has a choice

For those on a budget and can limit to buy only one smartphone, my advise is always this and very simple. LOOK at your own needs, look at the 80% things that you would like to perform on the phone , and your decision is easy. DO not be sway by salesman talk - every salesman will promote the positive aspects of their product. Good salesman will emphasize the PLUS points ; bad salesman will emphasis the NEGATIVES of the competitors. Listen to all parties and decide based on your needs , after all is your hard earn money

Many of my friends knows I love and spend money on gadgets. So I am always ask which is the best. I always give same answer: The best is what meet most of your needs and you are happy using it and is within your budget. If they cannot decide I will just ask what are their needs and I'll recommend them the appropriate one based on his budget

Before this Mr Kentang was saying google's ability to remotely remove any app from an Android phone is dangerous.. what about this now?

QUOTE
iPhone set to get an iKill switch

APPLE is developing a "kill switch" for hacked iPhones that could wipe the handset and render it useless.

The new system would target people who hack or "jailbreak" iPhones so they can use unauthorised apps, and those who unlock it from a phone carrier, remove its SIM card or move it "a predetermined distance" from its linked computer.

Apple's new iPhone-killing system was revealed in a patent filed in February and made public this week.

The patent application also outlined plans to use the GPS signals on handsets to track the location of the so-called jailbreakers.

The system could also be applied to the company's iPod Touch and iPad.

You know what, I feel pity for all the buyer that bought phone from from that fries. sad.gif

And if fries saying most his customer opt for Iphone, the reason behind is because that fries brain wash them before even letting the customer to have own judgement.

Mod,

Just close this thread and any subsequent thread with the same intention. Useless to argue...

Not all Android phone are made equal thus this thread is quite useless. Rather directing interested buds to their respective phone thread where they can better serve what are the improvements and features of the specific phone that interest them.

I've no problem with good discussion between Android vs iOS, but since I fail to see one so far, I think I may as well close off this thread

Of course, I appreciate to all who true-heartedly contributed to the debate
