Added on August 22, 2010, 11:20 pm@user...  that is just a swype that allow u to leave up ur finger...  Apple very good in this..  take ppl technology and modify and claim they develop it them self...

that why they have to pay NOkia a lot of money...

and they say they invent video call..  +.+"

It is actually a Nokia employee to be exact. He's from finland and maybe his English isn't as perfect for explanation.
But admit it , it actually looks pretty good right?

Not exactly the similar , but at least you know how it will look smile.gif

As for the video , honestly speaking , i don't even know what the whole video is about.

look carefully, how did he type the words. actually the first thing u read explained everything. Accuracy not required.
that means even if ur not looking at the screen u still can type without error or to be exact, with minimum error. just like how we doing using our physical numerical keyboard. even if u r typing with smaller scale just like using smaller keyboard.

the video show when u type.. although u type a wrong words.. the system will correct it by it self.. by reconizing/analysing the words...

say I wanna type a word "hello".. but I accidentally type "Hekko" , see the alphebert "k" and "l".. it is just next to each other.. and there is no such word as "Hekko".. system will correct it to Hello for you.... swype works more or less the same way...

all this while my prediction of N8 price not over RM2k.. I am not exactly sure.. for a phone like that.. to me.. is doesn't deserve RM2k above price...
Nokia should make it/keep it low to attract customer back...

just my prediction.. I might be wrong...

but most telco in europe pre-order price like hell....

As for the BlindType ,
It looks cool but how would it know if you wanted to type something?

I mean , what if you wanted to type , for example "Excellent"
My question is , How will it know?

That keyboard-free typing, I find it hard to believe unless I tried it out someday. Even with physical keyboard, we still rely on having a fix position where our fingers cooperate with our memory on where the keys are. But if you leave your hands freely and without looking, do you really remember where the keys were? It was sort like looking at movies preview where they shown you the good stuffs and hide the ugly/boring part.

I can only remember where ASDQWE due to FIFA.

So , its like typing on a keyboard .
Which you sorta predicts where the buttons are?

Anyway , 549 USD is after tax and subsidies . It might be lowered after being released into the market.

it will analyst the wrong words u type.. and compare to the closet correct one and compare the alphebet closet to each other in ur real keyboard..

like my example just now.. if u type "HEKKO"... the system will correct for u to "HELLO"... the K are just next to the L in ur physical keyboard...

I look at it.. swype are 1 level higher than it... u don't even have to leave up ur finger to type...
and the way it reconize the words are pretty similar to the blindtype....

1 thing for the blindtype is there is no learning curve.. u just type the normal way u want...and it will correct for u...
swype need some learning time....

any computer should have technology like the blindtype.. but rely on it will make u type more n more wrong words.. end up u dont learn where is the actual alphebert in ur kb...

another downside of the blindtype is .. it don;t really cut down ur typing speed if u compare to a person who can type very accurately....
