You sure Garmin MobileXT can be used in Nokia N8?
If not mistaken, N8 using Symbian^3, quite different with other Symbian S60 5.0.

N8 (Symbian^3) support both Qt apps and old S60v5 apps. Hence I think dat it'll work.
And I'm really digging on Symbian^4 rite now. Too bad I'm dead set on buying N900 lol laugh.gif

Yup..in fact that some early reports says dat some S60v5 apps do run flawlessly on N8 (Gravity and Opera) whilst some run with minor glitches.
Should try first if it really supports Garmin, but for me, I dun use Garmin as much as before as I rely more on Ovi Maps rite now. Free nav FTW? laugh.gif

yup, the maps detail as well as the POI is the main concern, but i think for ppl living at town area (KL/PNG/JB) then the OVI Maps do have quite no. of detail included... the Ovi Maps currently have it's own error reporting coming which hopefully it will be mature within a year or so?? hmm.gif

that one is actually cos s60v3 got pre-FP, FP-1, FP-2...but so far i see s60v5's application works the same on the phones running on it..
compatibility issue only happens last time when u are running an app that is build for another feature pack

we just have to wait for n8 to be release and somebody 2 try garmin on it...maybe you can call me an optimistic... but so far all point like backward compatibility for the n8 to run s605th seem to suggest its gonna run...of cause you could be right but after looking at n8 backward compatibility, I'm on the optimistic side...
