Yea, that is the biggest surprise of all, given that ATI/AMD gc do not scale too well in CF..
Really looking forward for 6970!! Hope a single 6970 can wipe the floor with 5870CF, den I gonna sell both of my 5870 and get single 6970 rclxms.gif

it is impossible the 6970, a single chip card is faster than 5870cf .... but 6990 for sure is faster than 5870cf

This cooler can be used on an HD5830, HD5850 and an HD5870.

If the design of the HD6870 is the same with the HD5870, then maybe you will be able to use this cooler on the card as well hmm.gif.

Price alert, Sapphire 6850 & 6870 priced at 599 & 740 (Cash price) respectively at Lowyat. Stock should be available this week or probably now i think.

It's a fair price i believe, but i gonna wait for the custom cooler version.

I don't know if you guys know this,

Radeon HD6800 offers 3 major attractive things which are:
a.) AMD Eyefinity 6(supports 6 LCDs).
b.) AMD HD3D(supports 3D Vision like Nvidia did).
c.) AMD EyeSpeed(PhysX from AMD/ATi).

The rest of other minor supports are:
a.) ATi/AMD Stream(OpenCL, OpenGL).
b.) CrossFireX(Superb Scaling like GeForce GTX460 did).
c.) DirectX 11(Improved compared to last time).

The rest of other minor supports are:

ATI Does 3D

The HDMI port supports HDMI 1.4a, which allows audio and video streaming of Blu-ray 3D. This is pertinent, as AMD introduces 3D support with the HD 6000-series, dubbing its technology the buzzword-tastic HD3D. AMD is using a passive, polarised method for its 3D, unlike Nvidia and it’s 3D Vision shutter glasses. To enable 3D on an ATI system you’ll need a piece of middleware software from a company such as DDD. At the moment there are very few displays that ATI’s version of 3D.

The new 3D support matches up with the new UVD 3 technolgy to enhance video playback (again a slightly pointless feature on a gaming-grade graphics card if you ask us), which adds support for a few MPEG formats that UVD 2 didn’t cater for.
