hi there ljs...gonna get my hilux serviced tomorrow...clocked 5500km already...i notice something lately...whenever my car is speeding around 150-160., i can hear a whistling sound...do you encounter the same thing?...i notice that the i can manage penang-ipoh with rm30 diesel...

30 ringgit to and fro or just one way?
that's pretty bad mileage if just one way.

these cars run best at 80kmh... if u go above 110 the fuel consumption increases dramatically due to air resistance.

jeremy0 i dun have this problem, may b ur windows not close properly or it is some hole on ur hilux that make it sound whistling

While my hilux makan minyak, each km RM0.13 in town.At highway, still no do test on it.My fren say one tank can make 900km,dunno it is true or not.Can i know how many km from ipoh to penang?

Me clocked at 2600km liao,it is the 1st time i clocked 2600km in just one month.

i'm wonder this model will got alots of problem of not since it is local assembled.

I really suspiciuos about my ECU that control my diesel consumption,my hilux seem like press more fuel but no power shown.Somemore, less km for wat i expected.

yet now diesel is expensive liao, diesel car no longer save money on fuel liao,is really equal to each other, each km RM0.15 for sedan car,i still dunno y government always plays wif the price, they really stupid la, once they increase diesel price, then transportation service charge must be increase also,so WHO SUFFER?May be they are really clever,if fuel expensive then we use less on PLUS or Road so they can save money to repair or subsidise on something.

True, last time i carry a lot of heavy stuffs at the back of my bro's SR Turbo, and drive long distance. The car felt not so bumpy and more stable.

Your fuel usage depends on your right foot
if u drive at 160...for sure the fuel consumption go up like gila tongue.gif
take it slow slow...

try and calculate your usage to km/litre..
0.12c per km becomes 9km/litre
that's my average consumption.. for a 3.5yo 150,000km ford ranger

If i take it at about 80kmh all the way, I get about 10-11km/litre

anyone here from Kota Kinabalu? I wanna know about the 4x4 workshops there who specialize in turbo fitting. I heard a lot of news about KK mechanics installing a Land Cruiser 80 turbo into Nissan Safari '95 model. U guys think this is possible? Both cars are indeed using 4.2D engines.

you are all driving 4x4's like a sedan tongue.gif

the screeching sound depends on the tyres and how fast u corner..
don't engage 4x4 when you're driving on tarred roads. you will wear out your tyres pretty fast.

the reason why these cars are more bumpy as the car is meant for carrying heavy loads. change the suspension if you want a more comfy ride.
