was reading the original thread topic... but isn hilux and other pick up truck really hardcore offroaders?

they're great for offraod and carrying stuff.. (dad still has his purple SR turbo)

but wont a suv be better for city driving? like a harrier, rexton, or kia sorento biggrin.gif .. rexton, and sorento are turbo diesel too..wont be too bad..and u get better comfort compared to pickups

my hilux clocked at 2000km liao

i just back from toyota service centre, they say the oily strain is anti-rust then about the cd-player is operating well ,yesterday i just let the cd stuck inside so they can know what happen but just now i try it again,it eject the cd out liao,The Sa also say if still got problem i need go SC again on friday to wait for the in charge person from kl to fix it.

While those SUV are too expensive for us,it is not neccesary to buy SUV like Harrier, sorento or rexton for city driving, did those SUV are offroad-able,i not think that those owner will put thier SUV to offroad.SUT are affordable for us,just like we are owning Toyota Vios or Honda City, the price is the almost the same, this SUT is even fuel economical, safer, big size and put many things. From my knowledge, one petroleum salesman tell me that diesel engine create less dangerous emittion than petrol engine. As we know that petrol engine emit carbon monoxide that can cause cancer or death. While for diesel engine not sure la.

anti rust?? are u sure?
hmm, suspicious

actually, diesel is more efficient than petrol. Only thing is that the soot content is higher and people relate it to black smoke. It releases less harmful gases as compared to petrol. but then the quality of diesel in m'sia is debatable.

Was having lunch with my toyota salesperson yesterday. What I gathered :

1. They launched hilux before production started.
2. You can get a manual hilux faster than an automatic one.
3. JPJ is slow to approve green engine cert. (what the heck??)

toyota hilux inside space DAMN LARGE ~ walau ~ i 'm totally stun when i

1st walk in to the place. it like Ford F250. even the engine inside quite abit smaller.

well, Cameron Higlands people more prefer hilux, they say this TOYOTA HILUX

is better then ford ranger because hilux mostly problem free. ranger mostly

having dificulty of overheating / engine JAM(which claim by CH ppl).

well, before the new hilux i would suggest the storm EVO, tough 4x4 truck

but SUV 4x4 goes to RANGE ROVER - DEFENDER !

Isn't that stretch supposed to be 90 due to the crosswinds ?tongue.gif
On a highway, the 4x4 is nice..
But once in a while i prefer a sedan for city driving..
