It's not that simple, some of those who want to get prepaid plans is because they can claim their phone bills, but only if its from a certain telco only.

good! I got tired of waiting for Celcom to bring in iPhone4. When their CS asked me why I port out of Celcom after 5 years with them, and I port to Digi? which she claimed had worse coverage, I said "sebab korang tak layan iPhone"

dude its unfair cause say in singapore, apple sg is selling the all iphones directly without contract. Apply my doesnt do that. Therefore its our expectation that both maxis & digi gives us the option to buy iphone without contract. be considerate to those planning to go overseas to study soon for a year or so and then comeback here.

Well, if ur not happy then write to Apple. Singapore never had outright purchases until the introduction of iPhone 4.

wtf? LIFE is unfair! Apple is a business, just like Maxis n Digi & Celcom. its becoming obvious that Celcom is gonna wait until everyone else has pioneered, then only they will get in.

u pun satu, USA iPhone is ONE USELESS carrier, US$80 per month, 2 year contract. so that's not cheaper, okay?

well according to this post here from the maxis thread, maxis are selling the phone outright without contract. DiGi should follow suit. so no need for me to write to apple . If it doesnt happen i ll definitely write to apple. these contracts are here to make the phone available at a cheaper price but they should not deny the public the freedom to buy the phone at retail price to avoid commitments.

seems like that's it for today... let's wait for their good news on tomorrow perhaps..

if you read properly its for those who are on their plan d. So i dun think digi will sell it outright.

besides that, the case in singapore is that all the carriers there already carry iphone. So apple basically can sell it out to them directly and let them choose their own carriers.

Hmm, I thought my post never reflected on DiGi's speculation and it was deleted. Nevertheless, as a DiGI user, I am hoping for more good news to come.

The retail price claimed by Maxis is RM2290. Do you think Maxis buy the phone from Apple at RM2290? Of course there is profit margin there la. Anyway most people will go for the plans because its cheaper. I am just saying they shouldnt deny the minority who would like or cannot afford commitments. I am using maxis here cause DiGi has not release the retail price.

Our telcos earn more from plan rather than the phone itself. In business ethic, they always think further down the road rather than just sucking your money once. Which telco don't wish customer to tie a contract with them?

not enough sense. I'm saying Digi primarily makes only a few ringgit from the iPhone. not enough to justify all the extra stuff they have to do to comply with Apple's rules.

How strict are service providers when it comes to enforcing blacklisted users? I seem to remember having unresolved billing disputes with Maxis that amounted to nearly RM1500. Will I be able to sign up with Digi? Their answers were not satisfactory and I refused to pay. Paying more than RM300 per month on prepaid for more than 5 years now on the matter of principle. Anyone has any recent experience? Appreciate help and sorry if I replicated a topic.

Apparently Celcom has also today just introduced micro-sim cards today to cater to iPhone 4 and iPad users on their network.

Hi... as far as I know, they're quite strict. It happened to me on an unresolved case a couple of years ago and when I tried to sign up for a new number many years later (when I act thought everything was resolved) I found I was blacklisted.
