Any one here can help me with the freeze problem while browsing for movies?

is yr unit pohd2 or mini2 or old models?

may not be the best i can only suggest these 4 u to try:

~ under setup, set auto scan to off, set delete history on
give it time to work, be patient, not power off too fast.

~ if this doesn't work, as a the last resort, reininstall older firmwares.
3699 may work although it's missing a couple of features.
make sure you get the right version for the model.

Bro thanks for the tip. Switching off the autoscan was the first thing I did.
However, this did not occur until a few days ago. I have even re flashed the AC Ryan ( v 7317) but the problem still persists.

It just does not read the next to last line of folders. For example, I have 7 rows of folders under my movies main folder. When I scroll down to the 6th row, the AC Ryan locks up. But I can see rows 1-5 and the 7th row. Just can't access the 6th

Have done a checkdisk, defrag ,the whole works on the HDD. What really gets me is that my RM100 + made-in-China media player ( which is even older than the AC Ryan ) can detect and play the files ...

Any ideas ?

haven't come across this... i have come across times when the player just can't read the hdd at all, need to restart to get it. but not folders.

just a tot... did you set clear histry to on?

what if you delete the last folders 6-7? will it then show only 1-3, 5 with no. 4 missing?

possible the problem lies with the hdd brand as i remember there were posts confirming some brands pose strange problems. also, if formatting is not done with the player, problems may arise too, but this one, i have not encountered any serious problem even if i format portable hdds with pc.

i am using PlayOnHD 3D.. just purchased today..
also updated to 3.07A..

everything work awesome. really so clear with my Monster Ultimate High Speed Cable. Signal as fast Like TrueHD.. 3D SBS also worked perfectly.

from the box said can 2D convert to 3D.. i try find on the remote.. nothing specific Convert or something like that. only my Sony TV have the function.. Pro please help..

i'm using this Playon!HD Mini 2
now i just format the hdd, then transfer all the movie in back..
so will update see it works or not

how you guys manage the movie folder?
currently 75 movies with folder for each...

i did reinstall the firmware, turn off the auto scanning....clear the history...but it doesn't help
so all i can do now is just format the hardisk...so fussy ..

how much did it cost?
what largest size builtin hdd can it take?
can it access you tube?

too many files in one folder is not good for browsing, i break them into subfolders, each <20 files.

Reformat the player? What you mean?
How to do that? My player is on offline mod. Just to play movies only

i mean reformatting the hdd with the player, not using pc.
there is an option in the setup menu.
somewhere in this thread, it has been mentioned that formatting hdd with the player itself is recommended, something to do with partitioning, if not mistaken.
also, think it was mentioned some brands of hdd pose starnge problems but not other brands.

I buy at melaka challenge store at RM559 only. It support up to 2TB internal hdd sata 3. Single drive only.
Everything work fine, no different when u play MKV movie compare to Blu-ray Disc.

okie..i will format the hdd using the mini2 before i copy all my movie in the hdd

i'm Playon-mini user, my player firmware is r7317 so far never brought me any error issue, previously i'm using r-3966 i hv the same eroor issue that you mention.

My collection same as you 1 folder 1 movie, some mkv file with srt or aas subtitle and photo.

But my HDD all is WD, how about yours?

i already re install the firmware r7317. but the problem still same. it still freeze after browsing movie, mostly on the center list part, it will freeze. cant watch the bottom movie list

i will format my usb external hdd drive tonight to confirm again
maybe some of the file is corrupted

btw i'm using Buffalo 1TB usb hdd

me currently same with u too...1 folder 1 movie...srt subtitle and photo

Myself install the firmware with pendrive, the pendrive file system was set as fat32 instead NTSC, did you do that?

Yeah I followed the safe mode
Now I formatting my hardisk and copy back all the mpvie again. Will try again 2molo.

this brand, i think was cited as a problem one. try searching for the posts.

now, i won't be surprised if the problem persist even if you reformat with player.

perhaps you can try another brand usb hdd and see if it's different. i have 3 wd, all free from the problem you have.

Yes I did clear the history. For some reason or the other even after deleting the folders -whatever remains on that line 6 is causes the player to lock up. ( I have moved the folders around -so its not the content but the line only ).

I did consider the HDD - but this problem only occurred recently - no problem before, and I have also done a chkdisk.

I did not however that the player did have some problems prior to this - sometimes when scrolling through the main main menu -it will skip a category i.e. skip "Torrent" and go to"File manager" , instead of going to "Torrent" first , then"File manager" .

Unfortunately the warranty has expired ... The support page is down, and no new updates. The firmware has always been buggy as long as I can remember ...

So if you ask me - am not a big fan of AC Ryan... The Made-in-China ones give me less problems at 1/3 of the cost...

Well anyone who has any ideas please share them. As I said earlier , I don't think it is the HDD that is the cause of the problem as the older Made-in-China player that I have allows me to access those folders.

I think there is no more new update coming
