Either brand is fine, just choose the one that appeal to you, some like the design, features etc.

You can try:

My Passport Essential (2.5") 1TB USB3.0 = RM369

or

Seagate GO FLEX (2.5") 1TB USB2.0= RM359

It's expensive alright, since you're looking for one that doesn't require power adapter. If you get a 3.5" version you'll get 2TB with that price, albeit with the power adapter.

If your laptop doesn't have USB3 support it will just run at USB2 speed.

hey i got a question to ask. i've been using WD 500gb hard disk with an external enclosure. few days back wen i plug in to the laptop it doesnt want to read the hard disk anymore. i was suspecting my enclosure had a prblem so i bought a new one. but the same thing happened. it still cant read. is it the problem with my hard disk? if yes can i know how to get the files in it? have some important n personal files in it.

For speed you can choose the 1TB 7,200rpm version, for green storage you can get the 2TB 5,400rpm version, 1.5TB is less value right now, unless your budget can't fit to 2TB.
