This is very very old version, one of the early release. Go and download the latest version 1.7 - you will be very happy. I am using it now. This rom has ZERO lag, very smooth scrolling - it performs just like any Android phone

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=736545

Download the zip file, extract it - you will see a folder " Android". On the SD card - remove the Android folder and replace it with the new Android folder

In Windows mode, using file explorer, locate the Android folder, tap clrcad ( there will be no response ) and haret.exe. The phone will boot into Android - take about 1 min +

If you prefer the original NEXUS Google interface - try shubcraft or darkstone HD2froyo. The htc Sense UI uses more memory as is more graphic intensive but is still OK ; depend on one's taste

Have anyone tried the Hotmail ActiveSync? How fast does it usually sync? Mine takes like 5-10 minutes for an item to reach my phone.

You mean using the HD2 Android as a portable WiFI hotspot so that other computers can link to it thro wireless ? YES - it was finally available in some roms not all yet. Mine is on Matt 1.7 , working fine

Browsing on Android is FIRST class . The MAIN striking and heavily emphasized feature in Android ver 2.2 Froyo is its browser , Google VP Vic Guntaro proudly said it will be the fastest smartphone browser . When he said that during Google IO conference in May, I thought he was putting his head out to be chop ! I find Opera Mini 5.1 now on Froyo is even better than the default Android browser

Well, Froyo has proven him right. The Froyo browser is at least 2 to 3 X faster than Android ver 1.6, 2.1, at least 2-3X faster iPhone 3GS and at least 3-5X faster than Windows 6.5 - these are reported figures by several users on the web. Personally I find is indeed better and faster than ver 2.1 and definately very much better than WM6.5 even with Opera. With the Froyo browser I could live stream movie ( tested on NTV7 Driven motor series ) .

You can send to me , I can assist you to flash but I encourage one to DIY. Once you have successfully flash and done you will find it easy next time flashing any other phones. Just PM me

All button keys work as assigned. There was never any issue with buttons. Unlike you, my iPhone 3GS sleep in the drawers 90% of the time. I use it only when on flight watching video podcasts and listen audio books. I already have unpleasant winks from my wife when she heard I am getting a iPhone4 - another luxury toy which I hope I can spend more time with it out in the fresh air.

HD due to lower processor 528 MHz, I guess will not work so well ; anyway based on the forum I have been reading, it has not reach the stage where it can be used as a day to day phone. So far all the roms unable to have the camera working

Thanks for you kind words. I am just sharing what i have learn and know. Infact I am a noob too , I learn everything from forum like this ; forum XDA was another great site.

@Benny,

so you mean to say tat Android 2.2 is working perfectly on HD2 now. i mean the latest version

and if compared to your 100% default Android phone, this HD2 Android is how near to it? or maybe which part of the HD2 actually outscore the default Android fon........if there is any
fr your Blog, it seems tat the 4.3" screen of the HD2 win outright over the 3.8" of your Nexus ( or was it Nexus? tongue.gif )

thanks

I'd say the HD2 can replace my Nexus ; so much so my Nexus now inside drawers too for the past 2 weeks. Actually depends on your use - Beside call, sms etc I use it for Email, RSS, Tweeter, NewsFeed, Facebook, Ebook, Browsing, once a while camera and video cam, Skype, MSN and lately Audible for audiobooks ( meaning iPhone not necessary)
I LOVE the Google Voice - fantastic - now most of the time I " write" SMS by talking, use GPS by voice, once in a while write email using voice. But I do find the Nexus response to voice input and browsing is slightly faster

Sorry, I dont play games, no idea but guess shouln't be any problem since both same chip 1 GHz

The main advantage of the HD2 over the Nexus is the battery temperature - it averages 26 to 28 while the Nexus is hotter averaging 32 to 34. I took steps to convert to Android mainly for one reason - the SCREEN. I like big screen, infact I place a booking for the Dell Streak with even a bigger 5" screen. After I get it, I will sell off the HD2. I will still keep the Nexus to follow the Android development esp Gingerbread ver 3.0
