I am now updating Froyo via MSU..... biggrin.gif

update: Upgrade to FROYO via MSU completed. rclxms.gif It is seamless. Mine is a UK set though, so not sure if that affects how smooth the upgrade process is or not.

"Thanks for your patience as we roll out Android 2.2 for Motorola Milestone. Many of you have asked when it will arrive in your country and so here is a schedule which lets you know when to expect it.

Froyo is now available for Milestone in: UK, Romania, Singapore, Thailand, South Africa, India, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The following countries can expect to receive Froyo by the middle of next week:

Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Czech, Slovakia, Slovenia, Netherlands, Greece and Canada.

The following countries can expect to receive Froyo by the end of this month: UAE, Nigeria, Kenya, Australia and Turkey."

Strange. None of us seem to be able to update despite them saying that it has already been released.

Hmm. strange. Where did you get your Milestone from? My guess is that maybe it's because PDA Gadgets Milestones are considered Europe region and not Asia-pacific.

the 2.2.1 froyo that u guys talking about is official from motorola ? or custom rom ?

anyway is the official froyo (malaysia) stable/more stable/better than latest cm6 ? any performance upgrades ? but from what i know from motorola official froyo is - users may experience some adverse effects associated with the upgrade which could include slower operation of some phone functions and applications. Performance may be improved by limiting open applications

Hmm... doesn't seem to be as buggy as I thought it would be. In fact, I think it is pretty smooth. But still preliminary testing.

cyewe, yes. this is official froyo update from motorola, through Motorola Software Update (MSU) portal.
