come to think of it, after half way down the tank with TCP, whatever butt dyno feel also seems to be gone.

in fact, 300v gave me a whole lot better butt dyno feel than TCP rolleyes.gif

Carbon cleaning , cost how much RM? It take how long time ?
*
Mine costs USD400. 4 hours of labor at $100/hour.

Btw my car was at ~127,000 miles at that time. So that's more than 200,000km. smile.gif

Car : myvi 1.3 auto ezi 2010
Odometre : 67k+ km
Tires : front 175/65/14 - rear 185/60/14 (33 kPa front n rear)
Products used -
1 - Redline SI-1 and Caltex Techron Concentrate plus
2 - Lubegard red for my ATF

Before : 370-380km per full tank or 11-12km per litre of petrol.
After : 490-500km per full tank or 14-15km per litre of petrol.

Testimonial : i've been driving this vehicle since a year plus and my full tank of petrol till the indicator blinking lasted me roughly 370-380km. Before "Balik kampung", i changed the rear tire to 185/60/14 yokohama blue earth tires, changed the ATF and added in the lubegard red. I also filled up full tank of BHP petrol with whole bottle of redline SI-1.
My journey to kampung took me 250+km and i don't monitor my mileage because of speeding(130km/h on average). I finished the whole tank of petrol at my kampung by jalan jalan.
For my journey back to KL(250km+) , I used the Caltex Techron Concentrate plus with full tank of petronas primax 95. My speed was averaging at 110-120km/h on average. The rest is normal city drive.

Will observe 2nd and 3rd full tank of petrol before conclude that this stuffs work for my car.

"Techron Concentrate Plus is designed for use with spark ignition and hybrid engines/vehicles, and is formulated to work in a broad range of gasoline and ethanol fuels.

For best results, use every 5,000 km."

http://www.caltex.com/my/products-and-serv...ncentrate-plus/

I probably wouldn't use it on a diesel engine since they no say anything about it.

I think your test has too many variables , using different petrol and 3rd party additictives etc. Imo, best test with same petrol and the regular routes you use during your daily drive. Then it would be a better test. My 2 cents.

Because it is so "crappy" and BMW also OEM Techron Cleaner with their branding.

STP, never worked a thing. Prestone I don't know. I am happy with it's effect, that's it. The other brand that works is Lambda.
*
Never thought BMW repack TCP as their OEM cleaner

i know mercedes also got this kind of cleaner but not sure suitable to DI engine?

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Jul 4 2014, 04:22 AM)
I can't possibly be assuring you that it will help, cause I am not selling the product either. But just that as to me, it works on whatever car I tested, be it my 16 years old kembara, to 5 years old City/Civic/Merc. And IMHO, RM35 is not too much hurt to try?

And also IMHO, engine flushing wise... Use Lambda Primer Set will yield better result and more economical.

Lambda Premier Set use to flush engine? mind to share link ? i am interest to my 03 wira

QUOTE(pengster @ Jul 24 2014, 03:24 PM)
I had it manually cleaned. The workshop guys removed the intake manifold and soaked the valves in a solution for a couple of hours before scrubbing all the carbon out. BMW has their own procedure for their DI engines which is called walnut blasting. It seems to be a normal procedure for them to have their valves blasted once in a while.

For reference, take a look at how bad the carbon buildup was on my car smile.gif

May i know where u did this? looking for my prince engine

QUOTE(pengster @ Jul 25 2014, 03:52 PM)
Yup it's pretty bad. But its common among the VW/Audi 2.0TFSI engines and on the BMW DI engines. Doing a full carbon cleaning once in a while is common practice for owners here. But, an italian tune up every now and then helps keep our valves clean wink.gif

Here's one of the valves after cleaning:

I have Lambda Primer Set in stock if you interested, alternatively you can just look for thundergod_cid.

CGI is DI yes, it does not help with the intake valve, but for some reason the below 2500RPM powerband much smoother before the boost came in to help.
