nope i dont get what you're saying.

beside, the last FF where name can be change was FFX and even that you can only change tidus name.

and point is that the names are there for a reason. Its not a different world like FF.

FF plays with a different world in each game.

Zelda on the other hand plays in the same world.

for example, LOZ:PH was connected to ST like by around 100-200 years. and the connection was one guy who actually saw both link in 2 different generation.

if u don't get it then maybe i will find a secret FF book later to explain this smile.gif

and..not every FF is set in a different world smile.gif i'm just saying, if people want to speculate, they can do it too just from the reference of characters / weapons / event that have happened on the prev ff games, even if there is no connection.

yes, there are some FF with connection.

FFVII - FFX

FFXII- Tactics aliance

Heck if you check out on tactics alliance, there are character with the same name as well. Montblanct for example.

point is, LOZ was created to be in same world.

While FF is not in the same universe. (FFXII and FFVII are the only ones connected out of 20 series of FF)

its a different story telling style.

Only FFXII and the Tactics games are in the same universe but depends on which sequel/prequel and leave it to the fans.

I love the confusion Zelda Timeline. Kinda makes you wanna re-play all the Zelda games again and figure out the Timeline yourself. =)

I just finished the 2nd dungeon and off to the the third one. To be honest, this is quite a long game for me. Never touched any side quest yet and currently focusing on the main one.

Used to get distracted by the side quest but now I'm more focused on the story since its getting me hooked into the story background between the characters and the world. =)

the thing i like about playing zelda on the wii is that my daughter will cheer me on every time there's an enemy and i have to slash it to death laugh.gif

my daughter will not care that much if i'm playing games on the PS3, but if it's on the wii and she sees me doing the hand gestures she will sit beside me and cheering me on

"ketuk dia daddy..ketuk dia" laugh.gif

satisfaction biggrin.gif

i've been a zelda fan since 25 years ago (no, i'm not telling you how old i am)...

so.. i was actually quite angry, sad and disappointed when i saw Gamespot giving only 7.5 to SS, granted, i haven't played the game yet but still 7.5? seriously? it's almost like an insult to me.

so for those of you who already beat the game or half way through... is 7.5 fair for Skyward Sword?

what's your rating? be honest.

Added on November 26, 2011, 12:45 amoh ya.. i don't have a wii and i've missed Twilight Princess.. do you think it's worth it to get a wii just to play Skyward Sword?

Really? What score would you give Twilight Princess? that one didn't get a very high rating unlike Skyward Sword which is getting lots of "perfect score" from major review sites and gaming magazines except for GameSpot (Tom McShea LOL!)...

Did you guys watch his HotSpot podcast? - http://asia.gamespot.com/the-legend-of-zel...1-21-11-6346425

He kept bashing the game and yet he said it's a really good game, to me 7.5 is just so-so good, not a score for a 'really good' game.

You can't compare TP and SS lo. TP is the first batch game that comes out right after Wii is out. I play on 2008 and the game out on 2006. So is just new and the motion thingy is not so explored yet but it still use most of it.

Now you have the MotionPlus (which I brought also haven't got the chance to use) which will make the game more sensitive to your movement. Seriously I don't really care about their comments. You can go for overall rating from others as well e.g. 1up, X-play, etc etc.

Take example there's a good game I forgot liao that gets only 5.0 on Gamespot. Where I found out that it scores more. They mostly rate FPS more than others la.

Oh for me scores for TP is 8.0 and above. thumbup.gif

Yeah, TP was originally meant for GameCube, they just ported it to Wii... so at that time I wasn't sure which version to get. And then, life got busy and I forgot about it...

Fast forward to a few years later (today), Skyward Sword has finally been released, I wanted to play the game, but not sure if buying an old console just to play the game is going to worth it, feel a bit weird.

I know I shouldn't be looking at the scores, but since I'm a fanboy, I feel excited and proud when I see my favorite game franchise do well.

I've been following GameSpot for a decade now and it's always been my favorite review site, that's why I'm feeling a bit upset when they gave it a low score.

Ah, well whatever... we'll see, I'll probably get a second hand machine or something, did you guys get the MotionPlus + Zelda SS Bundle set or did you guys buy separately? I wonder how much that's going to cost.

well the review had some problem. i mean the reviewer, he actually used the controller wrong way. the reason he gave it low cuz he thought the control sux. after a heavy internet rebuttal made against him, he finally admit he was wrong, but he jjust refuse to change the score. he is just trolling zelda fans.

and i have played the game. from my opinion. this is the best zelda, after Majora Mask.
u need some time to get use to it(the controls)...at least until second dungeon, and then bam! you know its the GOTY.

it's related to things at the end of the game ... so i can't really be too specific ... or else it will be spoilers.

anyway, most of you here will be playing it some time soon right ? so let's see if anyone else feels the same when they get to the end of the game biggrin.gif

btw, it should have been Mattel (and not Marvel) that i was referring to *sorry*

Added on November 28, 2011, 6:34 pmit was actually a subsidiary of Capcom which they acquired and subsequent dissolved in 2007 *sad*

name of developer was Flagship Co Ltd. those 2 were my favourite Zelda titles on portable ... although Link's Awakening DX was also top notch !
