QUOTE(Mr.Beanster @ Aug 9 2010, 02:42 PM)
i just bought edifier m3300sf. i encounter a few problem:
1) subwoofer so soft cannot feel boom boom sound
2) speaker giving buzzing sound. really headce
3) at first i test the speaker with a instrumental and it played great. then, i test it with a song and the singer voice is so dull. i open with full volume and the sound still dull. the surround music is fine.
*
edifier m3300sf looks like a cheap lowest range set?
i think it has bad design.... but how much is it?
it looks verymuch like sonic gere ones

it's not the lowest...
the Edifier E3100 is the best lowest range speakers available.

I done all my mod on my M3300, sound does real alot improvement...sorry i don't have camera with me so can't share out the pictures.

What i done is:
- Rewired satelite cable to cat5e
- Rewired interconnect cable cat5e
- Changed mid and high opamp to OPA2107, bass to LME49720.

the stock op-amp was 4558C from ST Electronics, lack of details and grinding treble i can said....

found a small problem is that i always got abit of buzzing noise, was that called oscillation?

if volume control causes the buzzing problem,a drop of WD-40 in the variable resistor will solve the problem

if circuit board, then must be the bad soldering tongue.gif (no offense yo... I know it's not easy to do soldering)

hmm... Imma guessing something also comes from your modded satellites
is your satellite connection tight and stable? Because loose wires can cause cracking and buzzing sound.
do try checking that too

Soldering seems good to me, all the cables are tight fitted, sometimes when i had the buzzing sound, i turn off the whole power and on again can solve the prob, sometimes moving the cable away from power cord helps. Now i try remove some of the messy glue work on the circuit..on testing now so far work good.

i thinking its the power filter cap is dead
when the cap develops an open circuit, you get 'zhou dien'(run electric) sound bzzzzz hummmmmmmm

and don't forget to short circuit the cap before touching them!
SAFETY FIRST =)

on other news, my fake rubycon power filter buy from KE electronics, jln pasar died today =( RM10 fly away in less than 2 months
Attached Image
so don't buy crap from jln pasar.....

That was a big mistake made when i just new into it.
Now i found out what actually happens, my amp easily get inteferene, just hang on top of network cable, i'll hear some interferece noise. So i assume that humming noise was interfere with power cable, should move far from it.

Need to get another Op-Amp for testing biggrin.gif

Those 5.1 don't have optical input IINM.
Without the D at the back means no digital input.
Like S330D,S530D,,then got.

hmmn eg. like in altec the models are different only in looks and speaker size
so im trying to say that it is not worth as much as it sounds when i got preview the models there... only thing that caught my ears is the razer set, beats altec sitting right beside it flat
edifire on the other side seems to have pretty bad finishing or is it because it is show set? plasticky buttons in strange places and plastic or metal bezel that you can tear yousing your fingers or is it china poroblem again?
