Toni kroos? i'll prefer Ramires to replace Lampard since we already get him in our current squad. =)

hmm i was thinking actually essien is the one most likely to take up lampard's role in the short term. however in the long term, toni kroos? how exactly does he play ichi?

btw, did anyone read ian holloway's glowing review of our team after the blackpool game? i admire his sportsmanship. his team did get walloped and all he had to say were good things about our team. i've seen managers who somehow slip into a state of denial after getting thoroughly outplayed, refusing to offer any sort of acknowledgement whatsoever to their opponents. this holloway dude however, deserves a chelsea jersey a.s.a.p! laugh.gif

quick update on our reserves : brilliant comeback win away vs newcastle (lalkovic x2, adam phillip (pen)) 2-3, and a loss against spurs away 4-2, (drew level at 2-2 but conceded late goals which flattered the yids) todd kane, bobby devyne the scorers. jamal blackman saved a pen.

Kross is definitely a superb signing if that is true.. he has more speed than Lampard.. more alike Modric style of playing.. If possible I would like Chelsea to sign marko Marin (winger) alongside with him.. wonderkids on making..

i dont think the club should rush into signing these expensive star youngsters and they end up on the bench until their contract ends. its a waste of money. yes its very tempting to have a young star in the team but we all should know better its not easy for youngsters to survive in Chelsea.

besides, there were bunch of talented wonder kids already queuing in the Chelsea camp..kakuta, borini, josh all are slightly equal if not better than the likes of marin and kroos.. with the current form of Essien and Mikel, the youngster won't stand a chance..plus there are Ramires who just 23..and oh i forgot, Lamps will play until his 40..biggrin.gif

yeah. you never know when the likes of JT and Lampsy will play until. they are very disciplined in training, their fitness level is still in very good condition at this age.

yes. drogba should have taken the free kicks for the past few season. lampsy has a good shot too but his isnt as consistent as drogba. hell, drogba even whips in a good corner too compared to malouda and lampsy.

although lampsy isnt taking the deadballs anymore but his presence in midfield is definitely still the core for the Chelsea squad. he can make a good pass, assist the strikers and score goals. his defending isnt too shabby either. hardworking on the field and never gives up until the whistle blows. how many times has lampsy saved games for us? countless.

Interesting match this weekend, away to the Eastlands. Used to be a low-key affair until last season's added spice with Teams Bridge v Terry, and also the fact that Man City is the 'new' Chelsea, what with the Sheikh's millions. And not to mention our unbeaten run thus far...

Pls do note it's an early game 7.45 local time IINM, of which plokoon would update the thread as and when the game draws nearer. Time for the boys do put to justice our last 2 results v Man City, they were our bogey team last season.

City is definitely stronger this season with the addition of barca's toure. the boys will definitely go into this game for revenge for two losses last season. joe hart also was a problem when we played birmingham last season so it might be quite hard to break down their defense. i just hope we dont get hit on the counter too much like last season.

on another note, hilario is injured so it looks like its time for turnbull to show us what he's got in the carling cup.

They are not really consistent I would say. Sometimes they played very very well, and sometimes, they dont. I wish they would perform this weekend, so that we can really test our firepower. An interesting match + 3 points is my wish for this weekend.

hello wawawa! well imo the trademark we miss most from lampsy is his late runs into the box which are so difficult to track. essien's goal vs zilina demonstrates that he can take on that duty if need be, but the bison spends most of his time in the middle spraying passes and powering into the opposition half. unlike lampard, he's a bit reluctant to make runs beyond our strikers, mainly because he's more comfortable in the middle of the park.

yep i think its great that our boys play with a lot more smiles on their faces nowadays, even during matchdays. that's a sign of solidarity and obviously they're in good spirits. i have no doubt it'll be a war against city, and the closeness within the team ensures that they're going to fight for each other, and CFC.

If we play our attacking game..we dont have a major problem scoring...I only concern about defense..and it is a pain 4-2 defeat at the SB last season..

Premier League - Fabregas set to miss Chelsea clash

QUOTE
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas  has been ruled out for up to three weeks with a hamstring problem and looks set to miss the showdown with Premier League leaders Chelsea on October 3.

"Arsenal Football Club have confirmed that Cesc Fabregas will be out for two to three weeks," a club statement read.

"The Spanish midfielder gave the visitors an early lead at Sunderland on Saturday but then picked up a hamstring injury. He was substituted just before the half-hour. The extent of the injury was discovered after a scan on Monday afternoon."

QUOTE
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Jose Bosingwa, the Portuguese international full back, will make his teturn from injury in a reserves fixture against Fulham this Wednesday at Cobham.

Bosingwa, 27,  has been absent since seriously injuring his knee last October, an injury which required two operations and ruled him out for the 2010 World Cup.

A full report of Bosingwa’s first appearance for the Blues this term will be featured on the site.
