hmm true that. would love to see a studge, nico and drogba combination upfront though but there's no way anyone's going to displace flomo for now. so we stick to our guns vs westham. it'll be nice seeing parker and carlton cole again. just hope they're ineffective against us.

Bit of a mixed bag really. I agree that players selected for national duty must have pride to play for their country, but at the same time, you've got to know when your body needs to take a rest and say no to games that you can miss. After all, your club pays for your livelihood.

i was just joking by the way. the emoticon indicates that its a joke. but seriously, these internationals are cause more injuries than weekly club games and i personally dont really support any international teams, unless Malaysia is playing at an international level.

i'd rather our english core players have more pride playing for the chels. why? the public there (apart from true blues of course) lap up everything their despicable press throws up, and they end up putting in more effort to boo their OWN countrymen rather than support the team. chelsea blue over england white any day of the week brother! i have no problem with the other countries who actually know what supporting your national colours is all about though. anyone read yuri's recent comments that were published in the daily mail? not what i'd like to hear at all. i guess its just a matter of time before a player of his talent becomes impatient. feel sorry for the guy. a player who'd start in almost, if not all top teams

post the link to yuri's comments. stoch scored last night and i know we are going to regret selling him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ay-I-leave.htmlif zhirkov leaves, we wont have any decent backup for left back anymore. annholt is still too young, he definitely has the talent and skills but he doesnt have the experience of cole. i wonder if we would let zhirkov go. If I remember correctly, Ashley Cole started to get starting 11 place in 2001. That time, Arsenal got Nigel Winterburn and Sylvinho.. He was 21 back then, and of course, he took the chance he got very well, after Sylvinho injury.
And now, we got 2 decent young left back, Aanholt and Bertand. Given that Cole can play another season at top level, and given some minutes or so for Aanholt and Bertand, I dont see any problem letting Yuri go, but of course, not for soo cheap.

It's pretty frustrating at times when you are a fixture in the national set-up but not good enough on a club level. Agreed, Zhirkov must really bide his time esp when A. Cole is ahead of him in the LB position, while Flo is also hitting great form in left wing. Timing is everything, I guess.

its a pity actually. i do think that if yuri get more games, he can improve. we have already seen his attacking abilities and they are quite good. he can beat defenders and get into the box. there was also quite a few times when he assisted too. yuri is a good player, he can be better with more games.
but i dont think he can take the midfield role on the left currently occupied by lampard. it just wont suit the system. he can either take malouda's place or ashley place but both of them are in top form. maybe ancelotti would rest ashley for the westham game?

mad, that's possible if carlo finds out those comments really did come from yuri. but it would set an unhealthy precedent whereby unhappy players just need to speak up in the press and they'll get a better chance of starting. although i'm not questioning yuri's commitment one bit, as he plays his socks off whenever he gets the chance. its just one of those unfortunate situations where there's one star player who's magnificent from doesn't seem to be letting up, and only one position to fight for. but we need to remember yuri specifically said he expects to be given chances within the next few months where he'll aim to prove himself and maybe get in a consistent run. with regards to that, i say he's being quite reasonable. its a bit of an uncomfortable saga that's slowly beginning to develop, and how it ends is anybody's guess
