That's crazy. Absolutely not a deal.
Why are all the teams want our money badly?
They offer all the prices very, way too high man.

There's a talk that we have shifted our target to Burdisso (Dailymail) now, given the hefty price tag of Luiz. He might be a bit old for our liking, that fella is versatile (can play anywhere along the back 4) and makes a cheap cover if our main central defenders are injured.

By the way our "Blue Kenyan" got number 7. Seven Up For Ramires. Please don't follow Mutu or Sheva path. LOL

late analysis coming in! biggrin.gif

much needed win, and i think we rarely got out of second gear for the entire match. still managed to rack up six goals, and that's what pleases me. however paulo was exposed way too many times in that game, and i feel its time for ivanovic to reclaim his second favourite position for the next match. paulo did his best, but i think his age is really beginning to show when he's up against pacey players in successive games.

did anybody else notice most of the time we were at jogging pace? it was a bit annoying to be honest but hey what's important is the 3 points rite? at first i was a bit miffed the youngsters weren't being introduced after we went 3-0 up, but then i remembered the first few games are imperative for the seniors to regain their match fitness. good call by carlo, and u could see he knew what he was doing by giving lampsy and didier some rest.

my favourite goals are lampard's slick build up goal, didier's wall-busting (okay not exactly, lol) freekick and the french connection of louda and nico to round off a fantastic night!

ramires gets number 7 guys! its official icon_rolleyes.gif

edit : damn. nabeyl beat me to it tongue.gif
krk24, don't worry man carlo has dismissed the luiz rumours. and i don't really like burdisso..i'd rather we stick to our current crop of brana, terry, riccy and bruma.

SEVEN UP FOR RAMIRES
Posted on: Mon 16 Aug 2010

Ramires will wear the number 7 jersey for Chelsea.

The Brazilian midfielder, 23, arrived at the club on Friday, and will occupy the shirt left vacant since Andriy Shevchenko's departure for Dynamo Kiev a year ago.

Ramires wore the number 18 shirt for Brazil in the World Cup this summer, and the 8 for Benfica before signing for Chelsea, but Frank Lampard has sported that number since his arrival in 2001, so it will be the number 7 for our new signing.

I think we shouldn't use number 7 again tongue.gif , retire that number like 25(Zola). i certainly hope Ramires break that jinx. any idea what his position will be?
i'm confused, and as far as i know he can play wing too. such a versatile player

Added on August 16, 2010, 11:49 pmthe reason some clubs, rate their BEST player at high price is because they DONT want tht star player to leave the club...simple rite..so no worries if no luiz...we can build our own luiz...

I'd thought Ramires fits the 4 instead of the 7. As for the 9, CFC maybe just reserving the number for an unknown new signing, before deciding if Di Santo will still wear the 9 again this season.

cos plokoon is a glory hunter la! always wearing flavour of the month! haha (just joking mate).

Ramires 4 would be better as I envisioned him to be in the Maka role, should be more effective than Mikel TBH. That leaves space for both Essien and Lamps to bomb forward, and more security in front of Alex/Iva and Terry. Mikel still has a lot to learn, as he is still losing quite a fair bit possession in very dangerous areas of the midfield. He has improved no doubt, but needs to be a lot more steadier than he is at present.

Just to keep the bid away..nothing special..40mil is too much for a defender..30++ is okey..if we sign for 1st 11 spot..

Tactical talk!

This is an interesting read on how Ramires will fit in

P/S: Mind over matter, I hope Ramires performs despite the said 'jinx' number ><
