This is a patch for some of the bugs found in 1.5.0. Works perfectly well

There is an "update.zip" to install from clockworkMod recovery :

This will patch files in /system/app and set permissions to resolve :

- Location bug
- Calendar Bug
- Luminosity set bug
- Ringtone selection bug

What rom version are you on ?? This is indeed a long way.

Why don't you try the freeware : GPS Status & Tools - this has help many Dell users

You can try to download from Stephen's personal download site - he has also listed all his apk files there, quite useful : http://downloads.streakdroid.com/djsteve/

Been toying with my Dell Streak for a week now. Had it upgraded from 1.6 to Froyo via OTA. Now question

1) How do I delete those pre-loaded applications such as Amazon MP3, Dell Sync, Assistant Free, etc so that I can free up the memory a little.
2) I heard about this forum talking about DJ Steve ROM - where can I view some screen shots?
3) When all of us Streakers want to have a TT session.

Happy Streaking Streakers!

1. Use Titanium Backup ( paid version ) to remove default buitin apps . All those you mentioned can be safely deleted including Dell Stage UI launcher

2. Some screenshots of mine on Stephen 1.4.6 ( same as my present 1.5.0)
Homescreen is set on ADW.Launcher ( one of the 3 launchers available, others are Launcher Pro, Dell Stage UI). Time/Weather is Beautiful Widgets and Locked screen is Widget Locker ( both are paid apps )
LCD icons density I have changed to 200 instead of default 160 - the icons are slightly bigger and look more balanced on screen

319 seem like targeted for O2 units, not nuch different compared to 318 except more fc and crash. Sticking with 318 now.

1. Dial *#*#307#*#* on your Streak. Other than a quick flash on the screen, it will look like nothing has happened.
2. Go to your app drawer/program menu and tap a new icon labeled EMList. If the icon is not there, turn off the Streak. It should be there when you turn it on again.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap app_security.
4. Tap update unknown resource property to enable it.

Stephen has just released ver 1.5.1. I updated the zip file and it took 6 minutes and all my apps/data remain intact. If you are already on his new baseband since ver 1.20 , it is not necessary to go thro process of updating the baseband. His instructions is not very clear and several queries about it whether meeded to reupdate it or not
The most immediate improvement I noted is that the GPS lockup is almost immediate while previously for 1.4.6 n 1.5.0 I have to wait up to 5 to 10 secs for the first lockup
The animations is very smooth and quite a new experience
All the previous bugs found in 1.5.0 were not present
Overall it is much smoother, faster and slicker

Guys, i may need some help..

I've successfully upgraded to 2.1 from 1.6...now i'm trying to upgrade to 1.4.6

Read the guide and a few things caught my eyes:

1. What does ClockworkMod Recovery Flashed means? I've downloaded ROM MAnager but whenever i press Flash Clockworkmod Recovery nothing happens.

2. In the how-to, what does Steps 2-4 are only needed if you are coming from a build OLDER than 1.2 means? Does it means that i have to go through steps 2-4?

3. Can i bypass 1.4.6 and straight to 1.5.1?

Sorry, really confuse now hmm.gif

Google on Clockworkmod Recovery. Basically u need to go into fastboot mode and flash the recovery rom with custom Clockworkmod recovery file. This custom recovery enable you to update custom zip file, pkg file, Nandroid backup, clear cache and a lot more.

I suggest u flash it mistadman's recovery file since it's much more capable and his Nandroid working on Streak.

And yes, u need to flash new baseband but can go straight from stock 2.1 to steve 1.5.1.

Once u clear of the steps, hard to get it wrong. Quite simple, in fact, compared to older OS.
