Duh. Tried all day and finally knew why. Google navigation doesnt even work on previous version, it revert back to Maps whenever u launch Navigation. LOL

So Maps 5 work but Navigation mode still doesnt work.

Two fingers swipe for 3D/rotation view and compass mode confirmed working on Streak 2.2. Hopefully they will bring Navigation support to this region soon.

Navigation is not available yet for Malaysia. When ? No one really knows. Even Google paid market is not available. We have to use , example Market Enabler to access it. Google has refused to answer such queries at their blog. I'd think we will be lucky to be able to get it even in 6 months time

Temporary our best choice is still to use the Google brut maps just only for basic voice activated navigation. It works very well. Latest version :

Brut released Map 5 version but doesnt seem to enable Navigation mode. But i still depends on Papago X5 for now. More updated local POI.

I tomorrow continue rooting.. my pc got problem detecting android 1.0 driver.. downloaing sdk now so got the driver included..

i think i read somewhere the reason it doesnt work on Streak is because of your resolution or whatever u call it being at 160 ..... Was told anything more than 200 and it will work ....Not sure if i got the correct info .... Oh ya , any trader here got a Streak for COD this weekend ? MY streak got "hijacked" by my gf I'm now left with a SGS and frankly , it lags like shit

SGS also nt bad wat.. lol.. but never liked one.. so i go with streak.. haha.. faster n more tweaks..

Hell no , i sold off all my SGS . Even with custom roms and lagfix installed , it still lags ...... now i have to go all over again ....

Anybody know how to use market enabler? .Can I use it to buy paid application? .I am looking for higher quality apps.

Download n install from market. It is a free app.
Open program and at settings list select tmousa hold down it ' you will see popup menu select fake provider
Message will show success
Launch market now all paid apps will be shown . And you can buy all apps

hmm.. weird.. i do so many type of technique to install android 1.0 driver but i cant seem to install it in.. cant root my phone ler..

You mean your PC cannot detect the phone ? Was the installation successful ? If so, sometimes you need to manually get the android drivers installed:

If your phone still says "waiting for device" after you plug your USB in already, it means that your PC hasn't detected your phone. If your phone has connected to the PC, it would say "FASTBOOT_MODE". This is why you are unable to flash your phone: your PC and Phone are not detecting each other.

Possible Solution:

Prepare.
1. Unplug your Dell Streak
2. Uninstall any Dell Streak drivers in your system.
3. Follow these steps

A. Install Android Google's SDK Drivers
1. Navigate to your "android-sdk-windows" folder
2. Run "SDK Manager.exe" (and wait for the repository to populate info)
3. Select "Available Packages"
4. Select "Usb Driver Package, revision #" and install
5. Reinstall by choosing your own drivers and navigating to our "android-sdk-windows" folder

If the phone screen is stuck at ” Wait for fastboot…” : then try this – On computer, Go to Device Manager. You should see an errored item called Android 1.0. Right click Android 1.0, select Update Driver Software, select Browse my computer, select Let me pick, select All Hardware, scroll down to Android Phone , select Android Bootloader and click OK.

BTW you can just use UNIVERSAL ANDROOT to root your phone : download from Market, a 2 second process - need to execute it twice

done fast boot this time the menu and home button keep flikering d.. hahah..

If got problem with Android 1.0 driver, try this.

1. Uninstall all driver.
2. Download pdanet from http://junefabrics.com/android/download.php
3. Install and once finished, plug in your streak in fastboot mode.


*PS: Androot and z4root doesnt work on Streak 2.2 stock. Superoneclick work though.

hmm.. dunno whats wrong here but i cant fast boot my phone using cmd.. im in the cmd with <C:/Streak> then i key in the fastboot bla bla bla then it appears not recognized internal or external thinggy..

can any1 help..

if ur fastboot.exe file is in C:/streak

type "cd c:\streak" to change directory into that folder and start from there.

And try to use prepaid card like AmBank NextG card...thats what i used coz i heard normal credit card got problem...

yea.. got it.. but flash to build 4399 reboot.. and i check the build still 6601.. lol..
