Err 99 problem if you consider # of user vs # of cases, it's not that often.

I've gone through a few bodies and lenses, no issues. I'm sure others also have good experience.

Just noticed that my tripod is 200gram lighter than my 50mm f1.0 L USM. wooot. Loving my tripod so much now No wonder hardly feel anything when I lug it along during my last trip. Ex tripod is 2kg

Error 99 is an issue of using 3rd party lens on canon camera? Not just 550D? And i only saw 1 page of "Error 99" within year 2010, which 550D is launched?

Hi, true 4 pgs = 80 posting may not be distinct case count of err 99.
Also very true, I worry coz I have no idea what it is about and I about to invest 3K into it. Hence I am here looking for indications from all the experts here.
Not condamning any brands, I really like the 550D after playing with it vs the Sony and reading reviews, everything points 550D.
I just worried about buying another stupid product like my XPS laptop with NVidia 8400 GS that burns and need to change Mobo....
Trying to survey as much as possible, feedbacks from the public... and see if anyone out there has had bitter experiences with Canon :-)

i use 550D probably more than the rest of the people here. using it for both photo and video, across varying lenses and assignments. no complaints from me.

I've encountered error 99 before with 3rd party lens, problem is on the lens so i returned the lens to the seller and got full refund.

no problem here as well.

Since you so skeptical or super lack of confidence in your decision making, ask yourself this, what other camera brand beside CANON that offering 1 + 2 year warranty on yo el-cheapo RM3k camera BODY N LENS ??

N to give u an extra confidence boost, canon hospital is willing to give you a FREE OF CHARGE + MULTIPLE CUP OF MILOCOFFEE at their service center, should you walk in yo camera to service anytime, 24 times 7, delighting you always, provided you throw them rm 3k cash in the face.

If you still skeptical, my advise to u is sit in the forum & listen to both canon, nikon & sony section for few years before u make yo decision. Cheers.

Well, if you think that canon is good but you have no confidence to go, you should look to the After Sales Service.
There are no major camera company willing to offer you 1 + 2 warranty except Canon(as i know).
The 1 + 2 cover up your lenses too! Don't be scare *if* you are going to send ur cam to service centre, its because their service centre is good and friendly.

We can't help you to makes decision. We are just giving you advise.
Like him said, if you are so scared about Canon, then just go to the oranger,
mainly to avoid after u purchased 550d, u tiap tiap hari takut ini takut itu.

If you still can't make decision, then do what he said lor, tiap tiap hari come here and gather information until u can make decision.
