viking is a bastid. To afford this lens, I need to sell off my fishing boat. Then me n family need to eat corals.  sweat.gif
50mm f1.8  IQ oredi very bad, better just use it naked n dont degrade it any further with cheap filters.
How can it be inferior to the f1.8???? The f1.8 is absolutely horribleeeeeeeee
1D can just go out n buy anytime, anyday. Just go out to the camera shop "boss kasi 1 biji 1D".  Bungkus in plastic bag n jalan.  50mm f1.0 even got money oso cant find.

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of getting the 550D as my first SLR... but I am worried about the Error 99 that seems to plague the Canon. You can find 4 pages of comments on it just in Low Yat. Some are really nightmare product stories. Last thing i want is a product that have to constantly go to the service centre. I dont see much complains about nikon or sony on the net. Please advise

Thank you

so many people already say no need, still not convinced ah?

cheap filters degrade image quality. if you want a good filter, you need to buy like Hoya HD --> almost rm200. you want to pay rm200 to protect an rm300 lens???

It is about 40 years old. I use this when I start learning photography. At that time, camera is really a luxury item. We have to keep them in an air tight container to make the lenses do not get fungus. Actually, yhis glass container were used in chinese medical hall to keep expensive herbs. It is really air tight. We need to put oil on the lip and cover it. It is very difficult to open the cover. We need to use a thin knife and slide in between the cover and the container and push the cover to a side to have air going in before we can open the cover. It weight almost 15 kg. Really a treasure gadget to the photographer at that time.

Guys, since I'm leaving very soon to overseas to study(germany), but i wanna get a sigma 30mm/50mm over here before i go. Say the case i buy a 30mm

Grey set I found RM1450 6 months warranty
Local set 1800

I'm thinking about getting the grey set.
Although I'm not sure if local set is international warranty.

Read some reviews in amazon, so many of them complain about focusing problem. See already also scared ==

What body u using. If got AF Microadjustment, nonid to worry, just go home n calibrate urself. If dont have then just make sure u test the AF at shop before buying lor. Very easy to test oni ma. Anyway different bodies got different settings so u cant blame Sigma oso. My Sigma 50 needs +20 on my 5D2 n only +5 on 1D. So even same lens but diff body oso lari style 1. 1 fella lari marathon, 1 fella lari 100m. laugh.gif

Say if you send to Canon Paremba Square to calibrate, do you still maintain the microadjusment settings?
